Aww man!! What a shame. He was a fellow junk food enthusiast and a fellow guitar player to me. His knowledge of musical hardware really impressed me.

Iam totally shocked and saddened to hear about Billybunter. His contribution on VEF was huge. he had a great sense of humour, I enjoyed his Music and Movie posts. The Guitar thread was really enjoyable. His knowledge on Guitars and Music in general was interesting, and always entertaining.

RIP Billybunter.

I'm just wondering if any of the rest of us would garner such comments...? Or evenbe missed..?? We're lucky to have had BB for the period we did, and also thankful to have had links to him to discover why he'd vanished.

Sadly most of us if we were to pass on would have no way of anyone knowing, and just be put down to having left for any numbers of reasons. Sad to imagine, but all this has just left me considering my own mortality, and what impressions i've left that people might remember....?

"Sod all!" is basically what i came up with.... lol.

Keeping the new tribute avatar in memory of BB for a while... How long, who knows.

pharoahegypt, you are so right, most of us will just fade away without anyone knowing what has happened. Perhaps as a lasting memory to BB and for that matter Erdnuss we should all seek to befriend" someone, perhaps of like mind, or more interestingly opposing views to build a friendship of trust, then maybe we might give out our true identities to a couple of trusted members. If this happens then should something awful happen, the friend could inform other members here.

I didn't even know his real name was Stephen, but clearly some members did. Again RIP both of you and for that matter any other unknown passing of a member. I also like the status change to RIP. I guess at least this might stop future members or those who are perhaps uninformed from trying to PM a Late Member about a dead link. (sorry to refer to a link this way in this thread)

I don't think I had a PM from him, but I certainly enjoyed his posts.
I shall miss his presence.

If I remember Billybunter, I remember firstly his thread "Billybunter's junk food diary". I've have to admit, I'm always getting worse reading much more than one post of the served meals in it. English or Irish must have a robuster stomach than me.
I tried suggesting some easy alternatives, but with less success, I think.

R.I.P. Billybunter, we will never forget you.

Forgive my late reponse as I've been outta the loop a while again. To see this thread brought a sense of shock, a lump to the throat and a tear to the eye.

BB (Stephen) started out in the same year as I did here on V.E.F. Like myself, we both started out as quote prolific at scanning and posting our "collections" to share and to give thanks to others that have shared both before and since. Though his collection was a hell of alot bigger than mine !!

But BB became more than just a scanner/poster of pics n stuff. He practically moved into the forum and became part of the fixtures and fittings. For he joined in on many a topic, as well as creating a few of his own. Never one to shy away from giving an opionion, whether you asked for it or not! LoL

Like many on here I enjoyed many of his posts and his banter. As he was from the same part of the world as myself, we shared alot of his dry humour ( something that is very unique among people over here in Nor Iron ). His contribution to V.E.F. has left a lasting impression among many both for his many posts of pics but of also the man himself. He was very open and honest about his life and shared that among the people he knew. To say he lived a colourful life, would be an understatement.

I was aware of his health problems but in all honesty I thought the only thing that could stop him would be " kryptonite " as he was a tough man and had faced alot and came out the winner.

So to come back and see this thread....just knocked me for six, big time. I can't belive hes gone. He will be greatly missed around here and V.E.F has become alot quieter and darker as a very bright light has gone out here and I'm truly distraught to learn of such sad news.

R.I.P. Stephen, you always be missed but never will be forgotten mate.
