Do aliens exist? Yes. The universe is far too large to believe that we're the only planet that harbours life.

Have they visited Earth? I don't think so. Again, the universe is just too large.

Well, considering the size of this universe, I'd say the possibility of extraterrestrial life is there but on the other hand, if you think of the actually unlikely coincidence of life evolving on our planet, I'm sceptical. I'm especially sceptical about the existence of technically advanced alien civilizations. Assumptions about hostile aliens who want to conquer our planet are anthropocentric and should be placed where they belong to: human imaginations and sci-fi culture.
However, since all life forms on earth emerged from primitive proto-bacteria, we could at least presume some microorganisms out there but the best answer in this case would be: we don't know. Such life forms may not base on carbon but on unknown chemical bonds. I mean, we know about various organisms here that live under circumstances generally considered as hostile to life or the absolute majority of life forms.
