the one is purple facing away from the camera looks like it could be Shannon Tweed and the one in red between Vicki and Karen is Patti Farinelli....i'm guessing this is probably a playmate review of 1981 type photoshoot...all seem to be playmates of that year

The blonde facing away from the camera is Kim McArthur. The one between Vicki and Karen could definitely be Patti Farinelli but it's hard to say for certain.

nah definitely not Kim MacArthur...too easy giveaways...she's too tall and Kims boobs were much bigger in 81/82 time period

My guess was that this was Kym Malin, but of course, I'm not sure.

I don't know how someone can say that's Patti Farinelli in that shot...I don't know how anyone can guess that it's any Playmate. But maybe so.

A reasonable guess would be that it was shot during one of the Playmates at Play videos from that era - There were several scenarios that included bunches of the girls in their exercise togs. They were quasi-workout vids. This looks like a shot taken on location. I don't have the videos in front of me now but it would seem easy to compare.

Does anyone know when and where this picture appeared? The scan I have was created in 2005. Unfortunately, it’s a small scan, barely more than 200 x 400, so it would be great if someone could find it and make an HQ scan. Do our PB heroes on VEF, Masque and Fabrizio, have any idea? Maybe we could discuss it on Karen’s discussion thread.

Karen’s photo has me thinking once again of what’s in the vault. Can’t they let us crowd fund releases of photos of our favorite PMs? Given the lack of interest of younger men in PB, don’t they realize that Vintage fans are their last and best hope of cashing in? As I’ve said elsewhere on VEF, some of us aren’t broke, and many of us are desperate to see everything they’ve hidden away. Are they indifferent, bad at business, or hamstrung by their contract with their outside vendor for PB Plus? Does anyone know?

I read a post on another VEF thread in which the author said he didn’t think the vault held much of interest, since PB’s models only looked fantastic because of the airbrushing, etc., and might look quite plain in most of their pictures. No one beat him up electronically, but I dare say, when I look at everyday photos of Karen, Janet Lupo, and Candy Loving in their fifties, I do believe in the Santa Claus of beauty.

Correct me if I am wrong, but in the original days of PB CC, there was a small avatar picture for each playmate at the entrance to her portfolio of pictures.

I believe this was the one for Karen. Apologies if I am wrong. I miss the original PB CC. Best regards.

Not to "muddy up" this thread, but as an example, I believe this was the avatar for Virve Reid's portfolio. It appears to be the same size as Karen's.

May be I'm wrong but I had this photo filed as 1981_Karen_Price_DSO. I learned years ago that DSO means "Data Sheet Old" and this was the photo used in the Cyber Club old times to ilustrate the data sheet.

I've visited Playboy oficial tumblr and I noticed that Karen's centerfold is the most liked and shared of all. It's amazing that so many years later Karen Price still remain on top of top playmates. One big loss that she never became playmate of the year, in my opinion.

I hope Karen’s fans won’t mind if I note the passing of the Paula Dell, a pioneering Hollywood stuntwoman who, like Karen, got her start at Muscle Beach in Venice, California. Ms. Dell passed away at age 90 in January. [See her obituary in the Times.] A gifted gymnast and circus performer, Ms. Dell worked in films from 1963 to 1980, just before Karen’s stunt career began. I imagine Ms. Dell might have crossed paths with Karen, and if so, she would have been an inspiration for her. The pictures of Paula at Muscle Beach are wonderful. I would love to see similar photos of Karen, if they are out there!



Also, Karen received a mention in a caption in Mollie Gregory’s new book, Stuntwomen: The Untold Story. Alas, Karen’s story isn’t one of the stories Gregory tells. And Karen was unfortunately cropped out of the photo in which she is mentioned.



Karen’s husband, Danny, does appear in the photo, as does Nancy Thurston, who is quoted extensively in the chapter. Karen isn’t mentioned in the chapter, and she must have been lower on the tower at the Chico State Fair—alas, too low to survive the crop of the photo, which focuses on Ms. Thurston.

Sorry this post isn’t much about Karen, but PB hasn’t given us anything new for over a year! But I might post another small tribute to Karen in a day or two.
