Celebs and Stars

Maybe the Music Halls of the 19th century were the first to create Celebs ?
then it was nt long before Hollywood got going and created stars famous around
the world.
The 1950s brought in TV and suddenly fame and celebrity to almost anyone who appeared on TV.
Through the 50s, 60s and 70s TV grew to become the dominant medium.
The 90s brought the start of the Internet... perhaps it will become a major rival of the TV ?

But whatever happens, TV still keeps producing TV celebs, with their TV Soaps, reality shows,
pop shows......... its almost like a sausage factory !

Looks like Ivana got to be a big celeb by marrying a very
rich man.
If Trump became President and Ivana First Lady, I could
begin taking an interest in American Politics again.

How many women do you know that look this
good at age 62 ?

Sally Farmiloe is still, a bit of a babe,

but really only famous because she was the bit on the side for politician.. and best seller writer....Geofrey Archer.
OK she did a bit of acting in the TV series .... Howard's Way, but I cant think of much else she did .
Perhaps with those looks she could have done a lot more on the TV.

I read that Sinitta's mum was in the musical ... Hair ... during the 60s
so I guessed she must be a looker like her daughter.
Never found a pic until now

..................looks like I was right !

I'm sure that Sinitta was in "Hair" herself, when it was re-done in the early/mid-90s in that little theatre near Waterloo, London.........or am I thinking about Siretta? I do remember that some guy who had previously been in Coronatiion Street or something, was also in the cast. Wish I'd kept the programme now.

Eastbenders I think... Martine McCutcheon and Daniella Westbrook behind the bar, Patsy Palmer on set with that lovely long red hair.
Michelle Collins (a foxy blonde) was around too.

(Somehow todays episodes just aint the same !
maybe the show peaked around 1996 ? )

It played for a couple of months at The Old Vic back in 1993. I have the programme somewhere, but it's nothing special. Here's a rather nice publicity shot:

Early in her career, Anna Karen (Olive from On the Buses ) worked as a striptease dancer at London's Panama Club.
( there must be some pictures out there ! )

On the Buses turned poor Anna into a freak , but underneath
those Nat Health glasses she was still a bit of a babe
