Will Smith says 'Star Wars' was better than sex

Will Smith's love for science fiction started at a young age.

During a Comic-Con panel on Thursday for his upcoming sci-fi film "Bright," the actor recounted seeing "Star Wars" for the first time when he was 10 years old.

"I've never been smashed like that in a movie theater," he said. "My mind was boggled."

It was the early days of special effects, Smith said, and fans were "just completely blown away."

"For my entire life I've been chasing, trying to give that feeling to fans," the actor said. "There was nothing that I had experienced in my life that matched that point of ecstasy."

Really, Will Smith? Nothing?

Apparently not.

"I had sex a few years later," Smith deadpanned. "It was close, but no 'Star Wars.'"

"Bright" reunites Smith with "Suicide Squad" director David Ayer.

The film stars Smith as a human police officer who must team up with an Orc cop played by Joel Edgerton to fight crime in an alternate reality where Los Angeles is populated by magical creatures.

"Bright" is scheduled to be released in December.

The Force is very strong with one southern Indiana farmer who planted a corn maze outlining the face, and hair, of Carrie Fisher's "Star Wars" character Princess Leia.
The Associated Press reports that longtime "Star Wars" fan Jeremy Goebel came up with the design featuring Leia's face and her famous hairstyle in February. He then planted the corn in the spring by using a GPS device.

Above Leia's head, it reads: "Carrie Fisher RIP 1956-2016." The Evansville Courier and Press reports Goebel uploaded the design into a tractor computer that then used GPS to plant the Fisher-inspired maze.

He tells the newspaper he had "always been a 'Star Wars' fan" and just wanted to honor Fisher. The actress known for portraying Princess Leia in the original "Star Wars" trilogy, died Dec. 27, 2016, after suffering a medical emergency on board a plane.
Fisher reprised the role she made famous with her iconic braided buns in 2015's "The Force Awakens," and as a digitally rendered version in "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." In addition to these, Fisher will posthumously appear in "The Last Jedi" as General Leia Organa.

For those interested in checking out the maze, it's located at Goebel Farms in Evansville, Indiana and opens to customers this weekend. Cost for adults is $5, $4 for children younger than 12, and those younger than 3 can enter for free.

Halloween Levitating Star Wars Speeder Costume

It may be early on Halloween, but this couple already won the costume contest.
YouTube vloggers Jesse Wellens and Carmella Rose dressed up as Luke Skywalker and Princess Leia, but not in their classic Star Wars garb. Instead, they dressed as Luke and Leia as rebels zipping through the forest world of Endor from The Return of the Jedi and the only thing missing was an Ewok or two.

While that retro costume would certainly rate well withStar Wars fans, Wellens and Rose had a plan to put their costume over the top. With a little help from some friends at Lithium Cycles, they built a replica of a Speeder Bike that looked like it was actually floating and rode it through the streets of Manhattan. The sight was exhilarating enough that even wizened, seen-it-all New Yorkers couldn’t help but gawk.

The entire escapade was captured on video by YouTube prankster Casey Neistat, who has teamed up with Wellens before for Halloween pranks like Aladdin and Silver Surfer taking magic carpet rides through the city. Watch Neistat’s video to see how the custom Star Wars Speeder Bike was built.
