I could not face watching it but a friend messaged me after watching it and was quite excited about the new Doctor.
It was still written by Chris Chibnall so I was very wary as I have detested the preachy PC bollocks of the last few years and my DVD collection will always have a gap as I am not supporting that shite. Get back to proper science fiction style entertainment and fuck your all inclusive SJW bullshit and changing the timeline of the Time Lords to empower women Just let characters be who they are, if they are gay, disabled, or whatever that is perfectly fine, please just concentrate on the frigging stories. Not every story needs a moral

Liked Jodie's final words: "That's the only sad thing... I wanna know what happens next. Right then, Doctor whoever I'm about to be – tag, you're it!"

Can I just add that I laughed myself silly watching Sacha Dhawan's Master disguised as Russian mystic Rasputin taunting Jodie's Doctor by dancing to Boney M's 1978 disco hit "Rasputin", with Daleks and Cybermen in attendance...
Doctor Who - The Master Ra Ra Rasputin Dance Scene (YouTube) Otherwise while it was nice seeing the previous Doctors and their companions, "Power of the Doctor" was rather confusing (I know - typical Chibnall). I mean how was Graham (Bradley Walsh) able to descend into a volcano without a protective suit or any apparent assistance? Why is his grandson Ryan (Tosin Cole) in Patagonia? What happened to those priceless paintings that were defaced by the Master? Why didn't Tegan (Janet Fielding) mention the miniature Cyberman to Jodie's Doctor when they met - considering the tragic circumstaces that led to Tegan joining Tom Baker's 4th Doctor (her aunt was killed by the Master with his Tissue Compression Eliminator), wouldn't she think that was in poor taste?

I think I was able to follow season Jodie Whitaker's final season as the Doctor.
(Depending on your point of view, spoilers may follow Basically about six hours were devoted to combat of an outbreak of an invasive species of phlox which threatened the known universe. After feeding the phlox with Daleks, Cybermen and Sontarans, the Doctor used an herbicidal bomb (brand name Matter) to get rid of the phlox for once and all. There were many subplots: (i) some stuff dealing with the Doctor's adoptive mother and elementary arithmetic, (ii) a romantic adventure involving a couple separated by travelling jobs, (iii) annoying aliens in dog suits who kidnap earthbound humans, and (iv) massive underground tunneling in Liverpool -- my guess is that this last bit will actually make some sense to people in that part of England, and maybe a few tourists as well.). To quote Joe Bob Briggs: "There's way too much plot getting in the way of the story!". No nekkid breasts, but a high body count. |
