How does that work? Someone registered and owns the the domain name pixhost.to and therefore must control what ads are displayed on the site and earns money from those adds. It's not Google Ads or anything like that - these are big splash screens that appear when you're viewing a gallery and you need to close the screens to continue viewing the gallery.

If they are displaying adverts loaded with links to videos of what look suspiciously like under age people, then it is a real world problem and it is exploitation!!!!!!!

Even if it is just adults that look young, I do not wish to visit an imagehost that displays such adverts.

It was a good image host but I'm going nowhere near that site now.

Sadly it is a common business practice to rent out advertising space of websites to ad networks. There is just a snippet of code embedded on the site site that loads the ads from another source. There are many ad services out there, some are less reputable than others. The website then has no or little control of the ads.

It sometimes happens that even legit ad networks distribute malware. This happened once to a German news network. This is the reason one should never browse the web without ad blocker, even if you only visit reliable sites. Ad content is just uploaded by advertisers without manual inspection or further checking.

I always criticize embedding 3rd party stuff you have no control of. Not only ads but also user tracking like google analytics or social networks like facebook and twitter buttons. These are all security and privacy risks.

Illegal content of that nature you have encountered is usually not online very long. Even the most shady advertiser do not want that.

For the last few weeks, any image that I'm trying to look at that's a Pixhost image takes FOREVER to load. I've got wired fiber optic internet and it can take more than 30 seconds for the picture to fully open. Images from all other hosts pop right up. Has anyone else noticed this?

Similar issue - something to do with javascript code

left clicking can be quite useless / right click open in new tab seems to work
all depends whats causing it

links won't work - unless I FIRST "open in new tab", then they do

I actually contacted them and I got an answer. Now I don't know the technical lingo behind this but they said that until recently their images were hosted on Cloudfare but Cloudfare all of the sudden dropped them with no notice. Now all of the images have to come from their servers in Slovakia and that if you're far away from them it is going to take quite awhile for the images to totally appear.

I also tried it using Chrome in case it was something with Firefox but it's just as slow with Chrome.

You're reading this forum (and probably others) on your phone? Also, pixhost has been working well for 3 years, why would we stop? I have 1.4 million images on there.

hey fellas,
whenever I open a pixhost attachment my antivirus flares up...
not with the other hosts... anybody else get this? anything I can do to still go there but stay safe? or disregard cause it's overprotective?

It sounds like it's being over protective. My AV says nothing about it, I view pictures on the site at least a few times a week, and nothing. Many users have been using it here since imagebam teased everyone with shutting down 3 years ago.
