Anyhoo, I'd gotten a bit behind so I watched Kerblam a few nights ago. Pretty good. And then Witchfinders tonight. Best episode yet, even better than Spiders In The UK.

Default Doctor Who: Jodie Whittaker won't return for a new series until 2020

The next series of Doctor Who won't start until 2020, it's been confirmed.

Series 11 ended on Sunday night, but after the festive special on New Year's Day, Jodie Whittaker won't be seen in the Tardis again next year.

Showrunner Chris Chibnall said work on the new series had already begun.

Much garment rending along with wailing and gnashing of teeth amongst the naysayers me hopes.

New Year's Day Special Preview | Doctor Who: Resolution

It was OK (when compared to the recent series), but I will delay further comment for now...

I relented and watched. I agree...it was...okay...

Sorry, but she has no gravitas. For instance, her reaction when she realised what she was facing was too weak - more like someone who had lost their wallet rather than abject horror.

Previous incarnations could have done it far better.

Why no mention of Peter Cushing in the poll above.
I liked the two films he did.
Am I the only one?

The Doctor Who movies with Peter Cushing as the Doctor are not considered part of the BBC Doctor Who canon (for now).
It is a pity though, as I would have liked to have seen Bernard Cribbins part in the 1966 film "Daleks' Invasion Earth 2150 A.D.", linked to his appearances with David Tennant's Doctor.

One point that didn't sit well with me on the New Year's Day Special:

The treatment of U.N.I.T. If they are going to remove this important part of the Doctor's history (with an oblique Brexit joke to boot), then this Doctor Who is now dead to me...

Both the films were based on the plots of stories from the TV series. And they were both terrible, despite the presence in one of the great Bernard Cribbins.
