Grease 2.
Why is it that NO ONE EVER MENTIONS THIS FILM? EVERYONE knows the first one with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. EVERYONE knows all the words to all the songs, and the fans can pretty much recite entire scenes of dialogue. BUT the sequel (1982), starring Michelle Pfeiffer, is NEVER talked about anywhere, and I've certainly never heard it mentioned in conversation on TV or radio etc. It does actually EXIST, doesn't it, and not just a figment of my imagination? When was the last time you heard anyone mention it in conversation? |

In 2004 someone decided it would be a good idea to remake Flight of the Phoenix. They turned out a pile of shit which probably made the great James Stewart turn in his grave. If you've never seen the original then treat yourself.

Yet another appalling remake, that didn't need remaking at all. And yet it still doesn't stop Hollywood from trying again and again with other seminal classics. |

Maybe a bit silly, but I always loved the Olsen Gang. Egon, Benny and Kjeld are simply unbeatable in their very very special team dynamics.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olsen_Gang I guess the multimillion Øre heists of the Olsen Gang are still rather unknown in english-speaking countries. However, the film series is pure nostalgic fun. Legendary is a small scene in the Royal Danish Theatre from The Olsen Gang Sees Red (Denmark, 1976). http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075002/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuAevxbgjc8 Unfortunately, this scene is not complete. But it is still an example for the warm humor of this film series, which, sadly, is almost extinct within the the vast majority of today's rather sad and soulless mass products of narcissistic personality disorder. There are excellent German dubbed versions. I do not know whether there are English dubbed versions. My second thought is Kopps (Sweden, 2003). When a small town police station is threatened with shutting down because of too little crime, the police realise that something has to be done... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0339230/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aJFdePDqKrY |
