Anonym to

Don't know if this is the correct place to start a thread and/or if it has been noticed/posted before, a forum search came up with a whole lot of anonymous links, no topic, except a locked tutorial here, but I came across some old anonym.to links, they aren't working anymore, because anonym.to is now anonymto.com, maybe it should be corrected in the VEF Forum Rules, for those who still want to use it?

Old anonym links do still work, you just need to change the anonym.to part to anonymto.com.

As noted by hos in his subsequent post, it is much easier to use a "Code Box" to create a link to a site outside of VEF.

Just copy and paste the url address into your VEF post, and then add the code tags to each end.

Once you get used to adding the [c*de] to the front of the url address, and[/c*de] at the end, you will wonder why you ever bothered with the "anonym" websites.

Oh I don't use 'anonym' myself, it's just that I was reading some threads, clicked some old anonym links and noticed the URL wasn't working anymore because it had changed. Then I thought it would be useful info to share here, for those that don't know (yet) and still use it, and also how to change an old link to make it work. The code box is definitely a lot easier, just copy/paste the URL, highlight/select it and hit the # in the message format menu to add the 'code' tags to the URL

Just checked a few of mine yesterday & today

Opens to 502 page bad gateway with just anonym.to showing

Left click address bar once
- reveals full address minus the usual anonym brackets
At least it does in my browser vivaldi

left click again and cut & paste everything from
http /https into another tab

Website appears active to me but all converted addresses open as above

Sites been down 11/10/22-

Who is says its unavailable / inactive but no dates

Probably smart if members save the solutions in this thread for the next
offline period

i doubt uploaders would have a list of posts that date back years
so changing to quotes via editing manually is pretty impractical and would waste the time of Mods.

it's been discussed by the Mods, we're trying to find out if there's a way for Tech to change all the links in one go, possibly as part of the move to the new forum/server.
