What's the deal with folks posting pic sets in non-Gallery mode? Seems I've been running into them more this year. Here's the latest one I've stumbled across:

VEF has a rule that imagehosts must have a gallery option, but no rule that Members must use it. To quote a colleague;

"All of the image hosts commonly used here are compatible with various bulk image grabbers. Since the image grabbers simply access the urls from the post, it really doesn't matter if there is a gallery at the host or not"

Not having difficulty, and thanks for the reply/explanation. I just find it a bit annoying to not be able to go from image to image and instead having to go back to the original post to select the next one, when it is so easy to prevent that if those set posters would use the gallery option in 2018. /end whine

I certainly appreciate it when images are linked into a gallery.

Not all downloaders use image grabbers on every set of pictures.
That means they have to do more clicks to manually download all the un-linked images.

Seems to me that posts with linked images will get more thanks.
But more folks are not creating galleries lately, so their images are not linked.

Why is this happening?

I believe the create gallery option may not be the default setting on certain image hosts these days, and uploaders are not checking to make sure they create them.
If you use Pimp & Host, or Pixhost.org, please locate the create gallery box and click it.

I ask all our uploaders to please look and see that you have the create gallery option checked before you do your upload.
Unless you really intentionally want your uploaded images to not be linked.
