That is not advisable, as changing the aspect ratio can only be achieved by cropping (so losing content in this case) or stretching (which will induce distortion). |

I tried to load a "crop filter" by doing this - "VirtualDub filters can be loaded manually by clicking on the Load button that appears in the Add Filters dialog box."
crop filter was not listed. I could not find any reference to crop filters. I'm using VirtualDub versionv 1.9.11 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Denaniel mentions in an old post - MKV/x264 -- 1.27 GB -- 74:19 -- 696x464 (black borders cropped, no resizing) This implies both can be done, somehow. Norvik_(1602 10-14-2011) in a post stated - "I found a copy of this, resized, lopped off top and bottom black borders (a pet hate of mine, that ) & corrected the aspect ratio." That's what I would like to be able to do. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last edited by Tryvek; June 1st, 2012 at 06:08 PM.. Cropping is an option on the right of the Filters dialog box. You need to have selected a filter for this to work. If you don't want to filter anything, use the null transform filter.

That "button" is not active when I select the Filters dialog box.
The only active buttons are OK, Cancel, Ad, Delete, Move Up, Move Down. The others Cropping..., Configure..., Blend, Options... are not active and cannot be selected. OK, think I have it now. I selected Brightness and then got the Cropping... button to activated. Then clicked on it and up popped another screen that allowed me to adjust the borders. It's in he oven now. I'll see how it turned out. Thanks for your hanging with me on this. Last edited by Tryvek; June 1st, 2012 at 08:20 PM.. Reason: Add more comment |

I have a question here, I searched this thread and looked through the other useful programs thread a while back and didn't really find any good "restore deleted files/folders" programs suggested. I just trashed and deleted a folder with a couple gigs of avi files on a back-up drive and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on good software.

PC Inspector by CONVAR will find your files and recover them (most of the time).
