I never quite understood the need for this thread and I only visit it to check posts are within the usual rules, I think it's largely a naff thread like celebrity legs, pregnant celebs and possibly a few others which I also detest as they are largely just excuses to re-post existing images but some members seem to like them so they do serve some sort of service and as long as a member does not dupe posts in this thread and the celebs own there is no issue.
Thinking about it over time this thread has been used as a dumping ground and covers both modern & classic celebs so does not really belong in either section and splitting the posts into 2 separate naff threads is a non starter so I will move it to the discussion section where it will be more at home.

But don't all the other celebs in this thread have their own threads?
So if M Carey oops pics have to be only posted there, then all the other oops pics would have to be only posted in the respective celebs own threads, making this thread redundant.

The point of a thread like this, and one exists at PlanetSuzy as well, is for one or two of a larger set of Oops pictures to be posted, not only letting people know that such a slip occurred, but letting them know to look in the appropriate thread to see just what, if any, other pictures are in the set, and how much they show.

Yes, these pictures all belong in the threads dedicated to these women. But that is no reason to not have this thread, to let those who want such pictures know that they even exist. I don't know about you, but when I come here, I don't have time to check every single thread of every single model, actress, singer or athlete I've ever been curious about to see if there might be something added I haven't seen before(you'd be amazed at how much content is regurgitated by people, just so their post counts go up). A thread like this, with new content is a boon to everyone here, in that it lets everyone know that new posts in the main threads actually contain new content.

I do think there should be a rule, that if there are several pictures from an Oops-style event, only one or two get put here, possibly even only lower quality ones, and they high-quality and more numerous pictures get posted in the main thread. This is the primary failing of the corresponding thread at PlanetSuzy.

If that was the point then surely members would link their posts to the celebs thread as I have done here, as I stated above it is currently being used as a dumping ground

There is no issue with keeping the thread but as I say it has become a dumping ground and when I get round to cleaning this thread I will edit posts as in the example shown above. If members provide links to the celebs own threads then fair enough that would support your argument; the fact they don't feel the need to just supports my claim it is just being used to duplicate other members posts.

I have closed a similar and in my mind even worse thread Celebrity Legs as it was just a lazy excuse to post images that were already in the celebs own threads and the content of several of the posts had actually been deleted at source.

Yes I would like members to link to the celeb's own main thread (if she has one .. some may only appear in several generic threads) but let's see how this pans out now the issue has been openly raised.
