A man has been found stabbed to death on a bus in central London. The 48 year old was found fatally wounded on the 189 bus in Gloucester Place, near Dorset Square, at about 00:10 BST. Detectives believe the man boarded the vehicle at Brent Cross bus station at 23:13 but are investigating when and where the stabbing took place. The man was treated by paramedics but pronounced dead at the scene. No arrests have been made. Scotland Yard said they believe they know the man's identity but are awaiting confirmation that his next of kin have been informed. Details: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-39742676 Meanwhile a specialist pickpocket squad which targets thieves operating on the London Underground is to be axed in a shake-up of policing on the railways. The so-called Dip Squad which has clocked up hundreds of arrests of pickpockets in recent years is to be disbanded at the end of the week. British Transport Police said the Dip Squad was not getting disbanded “as such” but their work was being divided between two teams. Details: http://www.standard.co.uk/news/crime...-a3525131.html

I wonder how long before they start calling that cop "Dirty Harry"? I hope the cop will be alright. Sometimes killing someone comes with scars of its own.

For the record, I am a bit of a snob myself. I would never ever have held the EU referendum; it would have been held over my dead body. Not because I don't think ordinary people should be allowed to vote (unlike sweet Mr Okoto) but because the very act of calling a referendum was a fundimental game changer and no result was going to be in Britain's best interests, at least in the short run. I felt that we needed to reserve that nuclear option for the day when the EU finally decided to impose something on us which was intolerable. But I am often wrong. I still would refuse to hold the referendum if someone scrolled us back to May 2015 and gave the decision to me. I am still sorry to see the disruption and sorry to see how bitterly this will strain our relations with important neighbouring countries; the opening shot over our Gibraltar territory is merely a taste of things to come. But in spite of all the trouble ahead in the next several years I am glad we are leaving and the more the EU commissioners and their negotiators seek to shit on us, the clearer it is to me that I voted correctly when I voted to Leave. I regret the event but I do not regret our collective choice,

Mad Kim's at it again
North Korea crisis: North in another 'failed' missile launch http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-39750240 US President Donald Trump accused North Korea of showing "disrespect" towards China and its president..... really Mr Trump recently hosted Chinese President Xi Jinping and praised his Chinese counterpart for "trying very hard" on North Korea. If the Chinese had been trying they should have been able to put a firm stranglehold on the stupid runt, I suspect the Chinese may be scared shitless and over the years they have shown that diplomacy is alien to them. They are calling for dialogue but by wilful ignorance, paranoia and the use of red tinted blinkers they have allowed Kim to become the world's most dangerous loose nuclear cannon so the onus is on them The far eastern part of Russia is pretty much on Kim's doorstep so I wonder if Vlad is putting any pressure on China to sort its satellite turd of a nation out???

But the support available will include counseling, the team support, but the downside is he will have to go through a lengthy interview with the Police investigators, his weapon will have been taken for ballistic testing, he will then have to endure the Coroners Court, at which he will have to give evidence, and the jury could decide it was unlawful killing. So for him there are months of doubt and questions ahead. Yes it leaves scars, but here it also leaves months of uncertainty and fear of prosecution. Whereas I believe in the US these things are done and dusted within days. |
