I think I'm going to have to quit looking at this thread. Last night I had a hankering so bad I had to order one from a new place down the road. It was just OK but the damn thing cost $28 plus tip for a 14" sausage, pepperoni and mushroom. Don't think I'll be ordering from there again.

Dearly beloved and myself do enjoy a good pizza, unfortunately in our part of England the delivered ones are really bad, either a box soaked in grease or stone cold, so these days we make our own, corn and all or we visit one of the Italian restaurants in town.

Nothing quite like a cold piece of pizza for breakfast after too any ales the night before.

i will never forget the genuine 126% Italian pizza we had at the graduation dinner, the idjit forgot to take the dough off of the cardboard holder when they cooked it...
then they sliced it thru the cardboard and put it on the serving plate...
everyone was commenting how tough the grease soaked (cardboard) crust was until someone thought to look under the pizza...

My favorite topic next to sex. PIZZAAAAAAA!!

Im partial to pizza from Philadelphia. I've eaten pizza in NY and DC. Never had it in Chicago. I've never found pizza that tasted better than what I've had in Philly. There's a large italian community in Philly and you can't throw a rock without hitting at least three pizza houses in a two block radius, especially with all of the Ivy league colleges here.

My favorite: Pepperoni, raw onion, black olives and extra cheese. Thin crust ONLY. All I need is a six pack of Tecate beer and a couple dvds with a girl to snuggle and it's gonna be a good night.

Do's: Pepperoni, onion, black olives, sausage, mushroom, extra cheese, meatball, hot peppers, broccoli, (in moderation), taco pizza (basically taco filling on a pizza. They're good if you find a place that makes them well. But they can be messy), stuffed pizza (I like the ones stuffed with cheese steak or italian meats)

Don'ts: Anchovies (NEVER!!!!), green peppers (too over-powering), chicken (why??), barbecue sauce (I've seen it, trust me), pineapple (I know it's popular at those gourmet and boutique pizza places but..NO!!)

Franchise Despite all of the private mom & pop operations, we still have the required corporate joints like Pizza Hut, Domino's, Papa John and Little Caesar's. But once you've had real pizza that's hand-made by professionals, the last thing you want is pre=processed pizza made by minimum wage fast food jockeys. They do good business out in the suburban areas especially after hours when the good places have closed up for the night or they're sparse or non-existent outside of the city limits. If I have to, I'll do Domino's but screw the rest. Little Caesar's is barely above frozen microwave pizza quality.

Sadly, I have retired from the pizza game. Atkins diet, (Don't knock it, I've lost 20 pounds) But, nothing, nothing beats a Chicago style deep dish pizza. Thicker than a regular pizza, but one with pepperoni, mushrooms, bacon, spinach (yes you read that right) caramelized onions, red and green peppers, would send me over the moon more than a personal visit from Chrissie Beauchamp in her prime.Wait? Did I just say that?

Here in Buffalo, a popular couple is pizza and wings. For a party order a sheet pizza (30 slices) and a bucket of wings (usually 50) at your desired level of heat. I'll usually order a few extra bleu cheese to dip the pizza in as well as the wings.
