I'm not an expert nor do I pretend to be..... but let's say the guy had homosexual tendencies and hated himself for feeling that way because it went against his religion. He transfers that self hate to others who actually are gay and feels that he needs to get rid of the temptation so he goes out and kills gay people. Hence it appears that under this theory, he could be both homosexual and homophobic.

I don't doubt his desire to fight Islamofascism, and I think we can all agree that Islamofascism has NO place in modern society.

But fighting Islamofascism with what appears to be just fascism is (to me) akin to an eye for an eye. And if we go down that road, then I fear we will all end up blind.

Also how do we "win the hearts and minds" of those who are gullible enough to believe the BS spouted by the Islamofascists and subsequently volunteer to serve as useful idiots to either fight for them in Middle East conflicts or carry out terrorist attacks on the West? Please note that homicide rates are much higher in the Caribbean, Latin America, and many African nations than in the Middle East, even granting that a large part of the killings in Western Africa are being committed by groups claiming allegiance to ISIS. But the deadliness of the tribal warfare in Southern Africa dwarfs even the ethnic and religious warfare in South Sudan and Uganda. But even in these areas trail the deadliness of the mayhem being wrought by the Latin American gangs and political violence. This is why I believe the violence is being committed by psychopaths acting under cover of religion.

I cannot blame Islam for all the violence committed in its name any more than I can blame Christianity for the murders and atrocities committed by so-called "Christians." Even a passing familiarity with Christian doctrines makes it clear that such actions do not conform to Christian doctrine.

We have had similar problems in Oakland, where anarchists and criminals will show up at peaceful demonstrations or student protests and attack the police and vandalize local businesses. The last thing that women and students want to do is damage local merchants. It is understood that these small businesses operate on thin margins and provide jobs and services for locals. And as you note that some criminal leaders in the Muslim world come from the upper reaches of society, the bulk of our local "political" criminals come from middle and upper class homes.

Certain cities in the United States have very high murder rates, while most are very peaceful. The United States is often characterized as a violent and dangerous country, but it really depends on where you live. In point of fact, the United States has a murder rate less than half of that of Russia, for example, and less than 5% that of a Honduras.

It must be admitted that we are talking rough estimates in less developed countries as those areas lack the governmental control and data gathering capabilities of first world nations. It would be unsurprising if homicides are being underreported in the Third World.

P.S. The United States does average about one shooting per week at a school. (142 shootings during the years 2013 - 2016.) Very few result in multiple deaths, however. Far and away the greatest cause of cases where multiple people are killed is when family members kill each other, most often when a man kills his children, wife or ex-wife, and then commits suicide. I apologize for making a careless comment.
