Well please do show me! - Especially since most gods are claimed to be infinite! By doing this you are undermining your own claim for an infinite god as well! - Is God possible or impossible then? I'm getting two contradicting messages here: nothing can be infinite but God can be infinite. - Perhaps you are saying God is nothing? OK I agree!



Well in truth, scientists are happy to admit that we just don't know for sure whether or not the cosmos (not universe) definitely began at the Big Bang or whether it's part of a larger - potentially infinite multiverse that is infinitely old. (Remember the cosmos is all that was or is or ever will be). Now the God Squad love to claim 'Nothing but God can be infinite!' but of course they don't actually know this because they cannot explain why this must be unquestionably true (but they may say they can!). - It's simply another one of their 'just so' stories which they like to cite again & again as if endless repetition somehow made it a fact. (It really doesn't. )



Well maybe, but you don't know that, Stephen Hawking doesn't know that & nobody knows that in the 'Bigger Picture' e.g. If String Theory is correct or Roger Penrose is correct or Michio Kaku is correct. This is why I'll forget the term 'universe' which refers to our known circumstance & use the term cosmos which is an all encompassing term which may well include an infinite multiverse whether you like it or not. If we're in a larger cosmos, & there are perfectly good reasons to presume we may well be, yes our universe certainly had a beginning but only within the larger infinite cosmos. But hey, even if that's wrong there are perfectly good reasons to presume that whether you like it or not our universe doesn't need anything - not even a god, to exist because all matter & energy add up to a big fat zero! That's a very very interesting fact about our universe: it's raw material can be zilch!



Uh-uh! Listen to what you just claimed there! 'before time...' followed by 'something existed that cause the Universe to come into existence' - Well it doesn't take a genius to appreciate that there can be no 'before time' because you'd need a prior temporal 'zone' to exist for this to be the case - but you've ruled it out as an option. There's no getting around it! And to make matters worse a creator has to create i.e. Change reality somehow -& again change demands a temporal state not a timeless frozen state!



Nope - even if we assume that there could actually be 'A thing which is beyond time & space' that 'thing' whatever it may be could never have any relationship to the Big bang because that would make it temporal. Again there's just no way around this. Now perhaps you'll deny it until you're blue in the face but that won't change the fact that a creator creates & therefore there's got to be a 'before' & 'after'.



It's a pleasure! I'd love you to tell me what your strongest argument is of all your god claims & more importantly how you can reliably know anything at all about it's nature. I keep well out of arguing for no god because for all I know there might be lots of 'em! I certainly don't believe there are lot's of them - or even one of them but it's not my place to anyway because I've never came up with any god claims! It's entirely the idea which believers came up with, without whom there could be no unbelievers. - Correct?
