Big Grin

As dbailey for the coffee, I love the smell of anise, but I can not drink alcohol produced from Anis. With or without water.

I do not understand how some can eat sea urchins. I find this very disturbing odor, like dead fish.

Do you remember the smell of gunpowder, from our guns when we were child ? These rollers, or round that you put into it.

The smell of games. And dreams.
When I sniff it today, I am back in shorts, trying to track down in the garden of the building a buddy who plays the role of Liberty Valance ! (I was John Wayne, not James Stewart ) !
Or another who played Goldfinger.
But I do not remember who I was ....

Mr Bond,

I enjoy Ouzo neat but would not use Anise during cooking.

As for Sea Urchins, this is the one thing that reminds me most of formaldehyde as I once dissected one of the blighters that had been stored in the stuff.

See Urchins, Echinoderms, Echinus are a mouthpart plus a digestive system which is about 10% of the mass, an outer exoskeleton and the rest is gonad, yep b*ll*cks , full of sperm producing material, the horny little beggars just eat and then send out clouds of sperm......

...self propelled underwater testicles

....not a bad life really when you come to think about it

Yes we called them CAPS in this country and they were pretty potent smellwise, and in some cases bloody loud. Some idiots would even try to set light to them or bash the individual cap with a stone.

You do not know the smell of mine ! I found the extra ! Especially after eating beans !
But my girlfriend does not think that. Especially in bed, when I shake the sheets after the explosion ....
(I'm not talking noise like that of a nuclear bomb )

Wow, memories come flooding back. When we were playing japs and comandos we made our own 'grenades'

You needed two short, say half to one inch bolts of as wide a diameter as possible, I had some that were over half an inch and a matching nut.

You wound in one bolt almost halfway into the nut and then fill it with maybe 5 caps and then wound the other bolt in until it was finger tight.

If you threw these into the air and they landed on a hard surface, they went with one heckuva bang.....see....kids homemade 'grenade'. It it didnt go off, then the game went on as you didn't die.
