Does/Did anyone famous come from Your hometown?As for My present hometown,I don't think any one famous was ever born here,lived here,visited,passed through or looked at it on the map so I chose the fine city of Portsmouth ,England.Of the top of My head:
Charles Dickens,Novelist
Isambard Kingdom Brunel,Engineer
James Callaghan,Prime Minister
Mal Hombre,poster of nonsense

Freddie Mercury from Feltham, Middlesex. We had a memorial put up last year in the high street, Brian May also from Queen also lived/lives here

Air Vice-Marshal Donald Bennett. Youngest ever Air Vice-Marshal in the RAF, Pathfinder Force commander (No. 8 Group RAF) and the only Group commander not knighted.
Short-serving Liberal MP for Middlesbrough West, winning the seat in a by-election and losing in the 1945 General Election after 73 days.

Elizabeth Kenny, nurse.

There are quite a few famous people from my hometown. Some of them include:

Peter Graves - Actor from Mission Impossible and Airplane.
James Arness - Brother of Peter Graves and fellow actor most famous as Marshall Dillon in Gunsmoke.
Prince - Born Prince Rogers Nelson, his father was a local jazz musician.
Charles Schultz - Peanuts cartoon strip creator.
George Roy Hill - Director of Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Sting, Slapshot and others.
The Coen Brothers - Actually from St. Louis Park a suburb of Minneapolis.
The Replacements - All hailed from Minneapolis or surrounding suburbs.
Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis - Jam was born here, Lewis was not but they both attended high school in Minneapolis.
Hubert Humphrey - Vice President under Johnson and Presidential election loser to Nixon in 1968.
Walter Mondale - Vice President under Carter and Presidential election loser to Reagan in 1984.

The Speaker of the House John Bercow went to my school although he was years above me. Sadly the school that once was is now defunct-it changed its name several years ago.

Peter Sellers and Shane Rimmer(voice of Scott Tracy in 'Thunderbirds') lived in the same area as me as did Lynda Bellingham and Maureen Lipman, and literally across the road and up a street Lena Zavaroni lived in her early days.
