Born in Brummagem
Moved to Black Country aged 12. Moved to London aged 22 Brummies get very upset if people mix up our accent (which I now only have when talking to my mother on the phone) with Black Country; Black Country denizens get extremely agitated if they are described as having a Brummie accent. I get extremely agitated when someone automatically assumes that a Brummie accent means you are thick. Bah, humbug. "Humbug! Humbug! Humbug, Mister Baldrick?" |

a man who understands my pain...lol what doesn't help is virtually every brummie who appears on tv is thick!! they pick them deliberately i reckon; bit like when they choose the worse Stobart drivers for that show, or it'd be very boring show...lol

My daughter loves it and my girlfriend loves it so I endure it but I consider it a chore. December 26 is one of my favorite days of the year.

The only great thing about Christmas where I live are the Christmas parties Mom and I are invited to in the building. Several people invite Mom and I and we both enjoy all the food, wine and good times. The building itself holds a large combination Christmas and New Years Party. The one last year was fabulous. First there were all the goodies. A large table was set up for wine and other spirits. Then one woman who is a great cook and baker brought her famous lemon bars. I had seven of them. Other people brought shelled mixed nuts, tortilla chips, all kinds of crackers, and dips, and another resident brought a chocolate cake. My Mom brought a box of Frango Mints. Another woman brought a large cooked dish with my favorite cooked vegetable: Asparagus. The only thing about the party I did not like and this is when I usually leave is the singing of the Christmas Carols. All and all these Christmas parties are quite a delight.
