Play-list (72).
Summer afternoon at the border.. short play-list.
* David Lynch, "The Big Dream", 2013. I'm Waiting Here Star Dream Girl Are You Sure The album will be officially released next week. Between vocoder obsessive blues and "Badalamenti" mood with the crystal & brilliant voice of Swedish Likke Li (cf. 1st track). Good to see things don't change and are always different. * The Caretaker, "Theoretically Pure Anterograde Amnesia", 2009. Memory 1 Memory 2 Memory 3 Memory 49 Memory 72 6 Cd Box set edition, 72 tracks (they're all on YouTube) of dark ambient. I'm a recent fan of James Kirby and his haunted territories. But that's a weird trip. * Donald Fagen, "Kamakiriad", 1993. On The Dunes To listen at the end of the afternoon, by going to the beach (or to the grocery to buy 8 bottles of wodka & a bit of salmon). * Esperanza Spalding, "Junjo", 2006. Full album Esperanza Spalding is an US bassist and jazz vocalist from Portland (Oregon) and this debut album is a powerful simple & sensible piece of art. Recommended. And I'll post more recent stuff someday. She's actually on tour in France on lot of "Summer Jazz festivals" and I just listened her on the radio : she's great. Acoustic bass (by the lady), piano and drums. * The Necks, "Sex", 1989. Sex Single track Lp, around 58 minutes, by three forgotten Australian bizarre geniuses (Chris Abrahams, Lloyd Swanton & Tony Buck -piano, bass & drums again) improvising on a repetitive theme and then overdubbing and overdubbing.. Hypnotic and perfect for, well... what u already know (sex, going to the beach or the grocery, etc). A real curiosity & masterpiece in its special genre. * Yosi Horikawa, "Vapor", 2013. Intro Rainbow Cave Stars "Imagine an ancient forest, trees as tall as skyscrapers, where nature is king and life bustles – actually, you don’t have to imagine it, because Yosi Horikawa has taken samples of forest sounds to provide a rich backdrop to his tribal beat-laden debut LP." Wet, deep and clever ambient music for after sunset.

Isis: Wavering Radiant
Wavering Radiant is the fifth and final full-length album by American post-metal group Isis, released by Ipecac Recordings in 2009 and produced by Joe Barresi. It stands as Isis' last full-length album, as the band split just over a year after its release. The album continues Isis' history of lengthy songwriting, yet presents a slight departure from the soft-loud dynamics and post-metal aesthetic which characterized previous releases. Reviewers noted a continued increase in melody from previous releases, and many were quick to note an increased prominence of keyboardist Bryant Clifford Meyer's work, using a Hammond B3 organ. In keeping with Isis' retinue of concept albums, a thematic strand runs throughout, dealing with dreams and Jungian psychology. Critical appraisal was largely positive, with some critics deeming it Isis' finest album; it also appeared on a handful of best-of lists at the close of the year. Commercially, it was Isis' most successful release ever, breaching the Billboard 200 for the first time and gaining international chart presence. It was ranked in the year-end lists by a number of reputed publications. To promote the album, Isis embarked on a world tour and shot a music video. TRACK LIST: 1 Hall Of The Dead 0:00 2 Ghost Key 7:39 3 Hand Of The Host 16:08 4 Wavering Radiant 26:51 5 Stone To Wake A Serpent 28:39 6 20 Minutes/40 Years 37:10 7 Threshold Of Transformation 44:14 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qn1Is2PWvy4

Down - Nola
Down is an American heavy metal supergroup that formed in 1991 in New Orleans, Louisiana. The band's current lineup consists of vocalist Phil Anselmo, guitarist Pepper Keenan, guitarist Kirk Windstein, bassist Pat Bruders and drummer Jimmy Bower. NOLA is the debut album of Louisiana-based heavy metal band Down. It was released on September 19, 1995. The title is the abbreviation for New Orleans (N.O.), Louisiana (La.). No. Title Writer(s) Length 1. "Temptation's Wings" Phil Anselmo, Pepper Keenan 4:24 2. "Lifer" Anselmo, Keenan 4:36 3. "Pillars of Eternity" Anselmo 3:57 4. "Bury Me in Smoke" Anselmo, Keenan 7:04 Total length: 56:33 All of the band members were longtime friends, and shared interest in bands such as Black Sabbath and Saint Vitus, which would significantly influence the music they wrote for the record. Although a sludge metal album, NOLA contains traces of doom metal, hardcore punk, southern rock, stoner rock, and grunge. Lyrical themes on the album prominently focus on topics such as death, suicide, drug abuse and personal struggles. NOLA was released in September of 1995 and would peak at number 57 in October 1995 on the Billboard 200, and remain on the chart for six weeks.[2] The album spawned four singles in "Stone the Crow", "Lifer", "Temptations Wings", which were released in 1995, and "Bury Me in Smoke" in 1996. However, only "Stone the Crow" would achieve commercial success when it reached number 40 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks charts, becoming Down's first and only top 40 song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFEDhm3dWkY
