When I first started working at 16. Every Monday morning the same guys would tell us in great detail the sex they had over the weekend

all a pack of lies. They are single to this day. I wasn't getting sex every w/end but I got it now and then and kept my mouth shut.

Back in 1999 I received, completely out of the blue, an email from an American woman I'd never met before. I get plenty of spam, so I replied with no small degree of barb and cynicism. However, she turned out to be genuine and we exchanged many more emails, sometimes six or seven a day.

In 2001 I decided to go over to the States on holiday, and made it a point to visit her. So I would recognise her, she sent me her photograph (we'd never exchanged pictures up until this point).

Wow, she was stunningly beautiful. Not the gorgeous, leggy, blonde model type, but very cute with red hair and a lovely figure.

So I met her, and we had a great day together. I came back home, and we continued to send emails. The frequency dropped, a little, and eventually we lost touch.

I was pretty bummed by this, she was a wonderful friend.

Then, once again out of the blue, I heard from her again. She'd moved to another part of the US and started a new life. We picked up where we'd left off, sending emails and occasionally a card by post.

By this time I was in love with her. Or maybe I'd just convinced myself I was in love with her. She was kinda my imaginary girlfriend. I carried her picture around with me and everything. But I never told her how I felt about her. At this point in my life I'd only ever dated one woman before, and she'd dumped me for being ugly. So I never dared tell her how I felt about it, because I knew it would mean the end of our friendship.

Anyway, she ended up meeting a very handsome and wealthy man who was very direct about his intentions. I went back to the States one more time to visit her and meet him, but I still kept my mouth shut.

I came back home, exchanged maybe two more emails with her and never heard from her again. She married her rich, handsome boyfriend.

Of course, I wonder what would've happened if I had asked her out. It's ironic that by keeping my mouth shut our friendship died anyway. But I still think if I'd said anything to her she would've just told me to fuck off. Every other woman has.

I'm remembering back to when I was a struggling art student at university (Yes, that's right, I'm an artist, so it just proves how desperate I really am) and while I was re-enrolling for another year of study & paying my tuition fees, there was this gorgeous redhaired girl who was practically throwing herself at me to be pleasant & accommodating to my needs. Although I did my best to accommodate her with equal pleasantness, small talk & info, I still regret that I never asked her out.

And why?...Well this is the crux of the story summed up in these three points:

1. Desperate, struggling art student with nothing to show for myself.

2. She was administration & I was a student, so our statuses should never mix. (Bullcrap philosophy, yes I know, but the last thing I needed was for her to suffer for my lowly status.)

3. Given the first 2 points and the fact that I had to concentrate on my art-work, the last thing this poor girl needed was someone who I honestly felt would never be good enough for her.

To this day, I still regret that I never asked her out, especially as she was everything I could have asked for -slim, fit, healthy (yes, that meaning of healthy), redhair, freckles all over her body, blue eyes and fantastic skin. She even wore glasses, which for me is the ultimate fantasy; you know, for those of us who get off on the repressed librarian or secretary...the mind sex factor that keeps us all warm at night.

I wish I had grown a pair and shown her just exactly who I was and what I was making of myself. Although I dare say that I still wouldn't have been good enough for her (especially as I am conversing with you guys about it on VEF, if you will forgive my sarcasm), at least this regret woudn't be haunting me so much...and the concrete gnomes would probably stop giving me electro-convulsive therapy to my genitals.

I still live in hope, though.

A common thread I noticed in my story and those of GailFan and BLUEDINGO: the chicks were all redheads. Coincidence or something more mysterious at work?

Well, red hair is a recessive gene, so technically red-headed people are less common.

Maybe that's why they're so irresistible, because there's something special about a red-headed girl.

But then again, it could be the insidious Red-Headed League of Women.

My brothers GF has dyed red hair. They were over for a few days. She reminded me of a girl I tried to get off with but failed everytime

Mrs BB has blonde hair though not natural. I have greying dark brown hair

For those who care, especially with it concerning the RHLW or anything to do with redhead women:

Although I am single and celibate (for reasons that I won't go into, but suffice to say they have nothing to do with religion!:thumbsup), my fantasies for healthy, good-looking redhaired women are purely due to artistic purposes -that is, I enjoy living in a world of exquisite pain! And redhaired women do just that for me!

I also believe redhaired women were sent here by Satan; for those of you who believe all women were sent by Satan may have reason due to all men being put into a world of exquisite pain, except for one thing -redhead women have the fire in them that us men enjoy being burnt with at their sacrificial altar in consuming our souls.
