Think more life partners, she's not really that infatuated with me either. Like an old married couple. Sex is rare and boring. Just someone to be there for you. We're nice to each other and are great friends. We're over 40 so it's not like either one of us are being denied an opportunity for something better and if either she or I feel that way then it's our own responsibility to do something about it. Neither she nor I is a victim.

There was a girl in college that I liked very much and actually asked out, but the date never happened. There was another girl that liked me, and I think she might have talked to the other girl and persuaded her to not go out.

The girl I liked has a boyfriend now, and I am kicking myself every day for not being more persistent.

She was a very attractive blonde girl, athletic, smart, had a great smile, and was very nice too!

I met her in my last year of college; she had already graduated and was working on a graduate degree at my college. She was a beautiful blond, a beauty pageant winner, and a very nice person. We met in class, started talking, and realized that we both really liked to ice skate. We ought to go skating, I remember saying to her.

Fast forward a few months. I'm ready to graduate and I see her again, literally in my last day or two on campus. "You never called!" she said, sadly, gazing at me with her beautiful eyes. I fumbled with some sort of answer, and we hugged and said goodbye, never to see each other again. The truth was, she was so beautiful I didn't think I had a chance in hell she would go out with me. Wow, What Might Have Been...

The last woman I even thought of asking out was at a job I worked at in the late 90's. (I just realized how pathetic that is.

) She worked in a different section of the department we both worked in. I had the foresight to ask another woman who worked with her if she was seeing someone. I was told that she was living with the father of her child. At least I was saved the embarassment of being turned down.

I am currently not very great in the looks and money departments, but I am working on my confidence and skills around women. Today, at the Cincinnati Auto Expo, I noticed about five model-quality girls in the space of less than five hours, all of them looking hotter than women usually look in public here. They all had on the '90s, "Perfect Black Dress" of the type that Jennifer Aniston or Gillian Anderson liked to wear on television.

It was really weird, because the first situation was in front of a Subaru display, in which about four girls reminiscent of Met-Art [!] appeared with bare shoulders and mostly trashy makeup. Now this leads to an entire day of libido... But unfortunately for me, every other guy in the convention center was there too, and most were probably richer or taller than me, and in better physical shape too. Not good for confidence or skills...

But the best was saved for last: I went over to the Honda desk, where my dad was thinking about getting a new car, and as he talked to the salesman from a local dealership, this girl who must have been about 5'10" - 6'0" and looking like she belonged on a runway somewhere, was almost intimidating in how sexy she looked in public. [To give you an idea of what life is usually like in the (513), a co-worker of mine says "They don't look that way around here," until today of course...]

This desirable redhead actually spoke to me first, and I remembered the body language and eye contact I need to have around an attractive girl. When I finally registered with her to win my free car, I looked down at her hands to verify she was single (no rings visible!) and then she said, "When you win this, I'm going to deliver it to you personally...", with a mischievous expression on her face.

It could be like Tone Loc once said of Love Connection: maybe they'll pick the winner?

About 7 years ago I was on a date with a girl so I was scrubbed up, smartly dressed, wearing nice aftershave and on my best behaviour. I went to the bar alone to get us more drinks. At the same time an absolute stunner walks up. I say "oh after you" she thanks me and orders her drinks. She had an accent and the barman said it was lovely, but I couldn't place it so I asked her where she was from (Edinburgh). While the barman got her drinks we made small talk, she was a dance student (amazing body). Then she stuck around talking to me while I ordered my drinks. Once I got them I said "nice talking to you" and turned to walk away.

She gave me a confused look that said very clearly "why aren't you asking for my number?" Essentially I was already on a date and figured it would be a shitty thing to do, but I absolutely kicked myself for it and still do. And the girl I was on a date with decided she didn't like me anyway, she was more into druggy twats in death metal T-shirts...
