The dance routines that Hills Angels did were always top quality
on a similar standard to Legs and Co.

Corrine Russell was a trained dancer

Benny deserves a lot of credit for getting the dance group together and putting
so many dance routines onto video .

How many shows did Benny crank out in a year ?

3 was about his average production.

Cant help thinking that a Yankee equiv of Benny would have put out
at least 30 shows per year.

That would all depend on the almighty advertising dollar and how high/low the viewership was. Back when Benny was active the US producers would have given him more time than they do now.

Not funny - EVER

Sorry to upset his fans but I think that pulling a silly face and running around with girls in lingerie is NOT FUNNY.

I will never understand what is in the minds of those who control the media. They tell us that Benny Hill shows are trash and then sing the praises of the likes of Jimmy Carr and Keith Lemon.
For me, modern comedy or light entertainment shows have lost the plot.
Give me repeats of Benny Hill any time.

Benny was an entertainer and the likes of Jimmy Carr and Leigh Francis(why do they think that Keith Lemon is his real name for gods sake?) are a comedian/git respectively and not even in the same bracket as Hill. I agree that Thames treated Benny very badly and the way he was sacked was cowardly. As a teenager it wasn't him so much I freely admit it was the girls that got us watching, but as we got older I think we appreciated the immense time and energy he put into his shows especially when he would play anything up to 4-5 different characters in one scene. He is a national treasure and should have been treated better. No-one since has earned the praise of such dignitaries as Charlie Chaplin and Burt Reynolds!

Huge audiences over many years not only in the UK but in the US as well would prove you wrong, and he was very popular in many other countries, also .

Whether it was because nobody would tell him that his time had passed, or if he couldn't change the show's format, I don't know, but I feel that he wasted an undoubted talent. Perhaps if he'd reinvented himself in the way Frankie Howerd managed, he would be more fondly remembered.

I think I have every Benny Hill program, if not I am very close. Yes he did rerun some of the jokes/skits but there were still many new ones also. The fact that Benny did not make more than what 3-4 shows a year I think he can be forgiven for the repeats as time went on. I do anyway.
