I haven't a clue on how to use Illustrator but if you just google "illustrator tutorials" without the quotes you will have alot to choose from. Some free, some fee based. Also, if you don't mind paying a reasonable monthly fee, try lynda.com. You might also go to utube for videos on the use of Illustrator. Hope this helps.

What do you want to know?

Think of Photoshop as a digital paintset-- you're applying color to things, in places.

Think of Illustrator as your ninth grade geometry textbook, it really is Euclid in disguise. You're creating images by assembling basic geometry.

In Illustrator, you're creating shapes -- there's no "painting". Making an image out of an assembly of shapes and curves isn't how most people think, and it less relevant today than it once was.

Illustrator was attractive in the early days of desktop publishing because graphics primitives are "resolution independent" -- that is, you can scale them up without losing any resolution. If you take a 300 x 500 pixel image and try to print a poster out of it, you get grainy garbage. If you take an Illustrator file, which has commands like "circle of radius 3, with a %50 grey fill and red 2 pt outline" -- that can be scaled to any size and it will print smoothly.

So if you had a Mac with a whopping 64 megabytes of memory, running illustrator, you could put together something that could go out to a print shop and print at full resolution . . .

But that's not particularly important now-- you can work at full print resolution in Photoshop, if you want.

Illustrator is mostly useful if you're trying to create traditional vector images, stuff that looks like advertising art. Its also useful for creating Flash stuff -- Flash and Illustrator share a lot in common (both owned by Adobe). But Flash is of diminishing importance these days too . . .

If you want to see an Illustrator master, check out Bert Monroy's videos. Here's a good one, (you can skip ahead to the 2 minute mark)

Can anyone recommend a simple DVD audio to WAV software? Since I like to burn audio CDs from music DVDs or shows that I recorded from TV once in a while... I know, there are tons of programs that can convert from a wide selection of file formats to another, but they usually bring so much unnecessary baggage with them, which then also jacks up the price. I just need it to have that one function. I may be asking a bit too much though I also didn't mind if it was free

ImageHost Grabber works with Firefox, and is simple to use. I have the beta version that allows you to pick all the pics, or some of the pics, or the whole thread.
imagegrabber-1.6.6.20120106.xpi

After d/l, open with Firefox. My installation wizard gives another location, but it doesn't work.

Try Firefox ! I've been using it for a few years now, and it has so many add-ons like Adblock, Blocksite, Greasemonkey, etc.

The biggest problem with Firefox is that they keep updating it, and a lot of add-ons don't work with the new version. I'm still on version 5.1, and I know someone that is still on 3.6 - so if it's working, don't fix it.

HI !

I want to know if and how it is possible to download a gallery of pictures I can see on VEF. The only way I know for now is to click on each pic, one by one, then go on ImageBam (for example), and, one by one, click right and save on my images folder... That would be fun to go faster, huh... I have seen a Firefox extension called BatchDowload, but it is impossible to use it anymore... Any suggestion????

Thanks, folks!

Try Snap Links and Pterodactl firefox extensions. You right-drag a box around all the images you want to download, and it will open them all in subsequent tabs. Then you run Pterodactl, which will download the largest image in each tab to a folder of your choice, and then close the tabs.

Its what I use, and I hope it helps.

Tsh.
