New coloring thread?

With the untimely passing of Demsel8 on Feb 25, the one who did the VAST majority of the colorings and other adjustment is gone.

That skill is WAY beyond me....but would anyone else be willing to take up the mantle?

People with both the same skills and the same sheer generosity shown by Don to all of us on this forum over the last decade of his life will be rare birds indeed. Don was the soul of kindness, as his thread proves, and was also a really gifted man. I would love to see someone take up his mantle, but I fear it is too much to hope for.

I would very much like to see someone take up the challenge as well. I have a file folder full of pics waiting to be colorized. I did not want monopolize Demsal8's time, so I held back so other members could utilize his skills. I am also mindful that some of the pics I gave him would require mountains of work, and would state so in my requests. He nevertheless completed every assignment faithfully. Finding someone with those same skills and dedication, not to mention willing to take the time involved, I'm afraid is asking for quite a lot.

I would have to agree with you....the time he was able to devote to it was likely very unique (I have to wonder if he got anywhere on my last requests...we'll never know, of course).


I could see some people stepping up, but the rules would have to be reworked to allow for time to get the jobs done.

Im one of the team member Mods to this section, we have for a temporary period of time...
closing the colorized thread & we’ll postpone the effort to colorized images.

This is in respect to our lost friend Don... demsal8.

While we morn our loss, we ask those to respect our wishes and refrain from requests, until we can make arrangements to continuing the service in a new thread.

This will include the effort to find a member who is artistic, willing to convert images.

Thank you all for understanding in this situation.
