Default Post deleted for seemingly no reason.

I believe that the rules here are draconian at the best of times (is holding this opinion against the rules yet?), but there is absolutely nothing in the rules that seems to explain the recent deletion of my recent post in that black playmate thread (which I might add had been getting decent thumbs up!, yet in the rules it states:

Quote:
VEF moderators reserve the right to remove or edit posts without notice. When this happens - do not repost! Due to our limited resources, you may not receive a message explaining the removal. An explanation will almost always be found in the Forum Rules.
As there is no clear explanation in the rules, I'd have liked to at least get an explanation by PM explaining the moderator's decision. Infact that is all I want here. I'd accept the deletion of my post quite happily but only if there is actually a reason for a deletion; in this case I do not see any clear reason at all and thus I am asking for an explanation.

Thank you.

Here we go again, holding opinions is fine but to be honest this is a section intended to help members and we have replied patiently to many similar and really unnecessary threads that have been created here. The section of the rules you yourself quoted clearly states we do not have the time to PM all members about every post of theirs we edit or delete. If you have had a post deleted and you believe you have read the rules for that section and are still unsure why and you want an answer then please just send a private message to one of the Mods from that section.

Similar threads have been created here
http://www.vintage-erotica-forum.com...gue-title.html
http://www.vintage-erotica-forum.com...eputation.html
http://www.vintage-erotica-forum.com...ember-too.html

There have been many others but they have been deleted over time once the message had got through.

Here's how to find out where your post went:

1. go to member list and search for your user name
2. click on your name and go to your user profile
3. click on the statistics tab
4. click on find all posts

That should show you where your post went and most likely give an indicator of who removed it.

I removed about 4 1/2 pages from that thread recently. But yours wasn't one of them. The biggest problem that was going on in the Afro-American Playboy Playmates thread was off topic posts. I removed the non-playmates, the vintage material, and the dead posts. If vintage was mixed in with the modern, it was removed.

I don't think it will. Removed posts are only accessible by staff members and don't even show up in the search. For instance, a search for Attila's posts gives 115 matches for me, out of 131 posts he made.

Must be some odd glitch as see here
http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/t28...eputation.html

Despite the odd title of the thread the member was also complaining about a removed post but the forum actually gave him a large clue as to who removed it.

There's a few gremlins on the site now so I don't know exactly what's actually visible to you when you do a similar search right now but hopefully it will be put right as soon as possible.

Odd that it has disappeared yet you didn't remove it. There is pretty much no way I can see when, why or how it got deleted in there. I'll assume good faith and accept that it was probably deleted by somebody in era or that it was connected to a forum bug. It is not like I want my post reinstated and I am quite satisfied with the answers in here. Thanks for your replies.

Not really, there are six other moderators in that section. If I had removed your post, I'd fess up. But I was on vacation until yesterday and didn't have the ability to move posts.

Not directed at ATH. I've had several members over the past two years that I've been a mod ask me why is my post in "winebeavis' trash bin?" It was a regular occurrence until recently. Have no idea what happened that it can't be seen now. Hopefully that will be fixed.

+1 on that.

I posted a similar gripe in the "What Annoys You The Most?" thread and it was promptly removed. I suppose the forum rules about complaints are like those in pro sports: If you complain about the officiating, you'll get fined.

A lot depends not on if but how you complain, if a member sends me a polite pm asking for info on why a post was removed they will get a polite reply. The fact is that many members go off half cocked in their pm's as if they believe someone has it in for them when in the grand scheme of things the fact that it is just a post that has been removed amounts to less than a small pile of beans. We have all had posts removed just look at our stats - mine are

I never felt the need to whine and moan about any of the 200+ posts of mine that have been removed, creating new threads about the loss of a single post is a modern phenomena. I did query a couple of posts by PM and was happy with the replies I received at that time and try to reply in the same manner now. If members actually took the time to look round the site they will see all mods can be contacted about their sections, we are not all online at the same time as we come from many countries as it is a global site and we all have jobs to do and fit modding into our spare time so please don't expect an instant response and always have a look at the rules for the section you posted in and have a think before you send a PM.

A new sticky thread has been created here advising members what to do in these circumstances.

out of interest the post steelydan refers to was.

Based on my experience the overwhelming majority (90%+) of PM's I have received about this particular matter of post removal were very easily answered.
