Recently downloads from this host have been "self-aborting" after about an hour. I wonder if I'm the only one with this problem?

This so-called "dropping-back"-issue is something that I have never realized until now - neither on share-online nor on Filefactory.

The only thing I do realize sometimes is that files from Rapidgator do sometimes stop while downloading (but then at early stages)

I have learned to no longer use Jdownloader - on more, I use to allow these filehosts in the NoScript-settings and also unblock the affiliated other sites temporarily.

This may be a solution to your particular issues.

If you read the faq section under uploads theres some pretty startling info which indicates that there is throttling of bandwidth once certain download limits on accounts are reached

Would explain aborted downloads

Assuming this faq isnt out of date like so many are

11. How much can be loaded?

Guests as well as free collective access get assured by us 500MB per hour. If you load for example 5 MB, you can load in the next hour the remaining 495 MB. If you do not load any other (smaller) files, you can load instead e.g. directly 500 MB and for the remaining hour nothing more.

There is no hourly limit for owners of a premium account. (assume they mean uploads)

But for safety reasons of the operator there is a maximum limit for downloads per day and per week.

This step became necessary in order to prevent the continually occurring Account-Sharing or a takeover of Accounts by third parties. All values are intentionally very high, in order to never bring normal users to this stage.

Every user, who however reaches these values, should think about the necessity or sense of the accumulated quantity of data ;-).

Currently the following values are implemented:

- 100 GB per day
- 450 GB per week (this limitation will only be reached if multiple day limits were reached what should happend very rarely)

Everyone, who exceeds this limit, must reckon with a reduction of his bandwidth and the maximum connections, until the calculated rate is under both limits again.

Just want to mention here that share-online.biz has been taken down and won't come back. It was besides ul.to the major file hoster in the german "scene".
Most german boards and sites had links to share-online and it will be interesting which one of all the other hosters around will fill this gap.

The influence on VEF seems very small but maybe former unattractive hoster will become more attractive in the competition this loss has started.

Offer by Share-Online since October 16, 2019 offline

Investigations by the GVU lead to a concerted action against the biggest hosters of illegal media content in Germany - prosecutors and police search residential and business premises in Germany, France and the Netherlands - GVU accompanied the entire proceedings

Berlin / Cologne, 17.10.2019 Since yesterday it is clear: Filehoster are not unassailable. On Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 14:00 clock, the Internet offer of Share-Online.biz, the largest in the German-speaking market filehosting service was shut down by cyber criminals of the public prosecutor's office in Cologne and the police headquarters Aachen. This unprecedented procedure was initiated by the GVU, whose employees filed a criminal complaint against the service providers in 2017 and have been supporting the authorities ever since. Where previously all criminal and civil law approaches of various actors seemed to be going nowhere, the GVU was now able to achieve a groundbreaking success for its members and the creative industries as a whole.

In Germany residential and business premises were searched in several federal states, further raids took place in France and a Dutch computer center. In doing so, extensive evidence was secured. The allegation against three accused persons aged 40, 48 and 54 amounts to aid for the commercial unauthorized exploitation of copyright works in a large number of cases. Share-Online.biz has millions of files hosted on several hundred servers, with between six and ten million visitors a month. A single service provider contracted by GVU sent more than eight million deletion requests to Share-online.biz operators in 2017 as part of the GVU takedown project to remove unlicensed content. The service appeared to be cooperative, but all content was available shortly after the supposed deletion. These findings and data from the takedown project were made available to the lead prosecutor directly by the GVU to substantiate allegations of aiding and abetting copyright infringement. In addition, government investigators were proactively supported by GVU staff through specific analysis and accurately documented test downloads.

Evelyn Ruttke, Managing Director of GVU, congratulated the authorities on her success and emphasized the peculiarity of the procedure: "For the first time, filehoster operators are the focus of a criminal copyright procedure because they use portal pages and forums such as DDL-Warez, Boerse, Movie- To have supported and funded the blog and MyGully through affiliate programs and commission payments. "

Share-Online.biz is a so-called file hosting service, which offers its users space to upload files, which can then be downloaded via a download link. The service is especially popular in the piracy scene. For example, well-known portals such as DDL-Warez.to, Serienjunkies.org or Canna.to are among the sites that most frequently link to Share-Online. Rightsholders were hampered by the company's own link encryption service Share-Links, which also illegally uploaded offers, and the company's headquarters were officially located in Belize. Between 2008 and 2017, the operators of Filehosters should have generated revenues of over 50 million euros, most recently the server capacity was in the double-digit petabyte range.

Ruttke describes the strike against Share-Online.biz as a sign that the air for the perpetrators of copyright offenses is thinner :, "After November November 2018 employees of an Internet advertising agency were convicted for aiding and abetting copyright infringement, the authorities now raise the same charge against the Responsible for Share-Online as a business partner of large illegal download and streaming portals. Excerpt

According to GVU, just one of its anti-piracy partners sent in excess of eight million takedown notices to Share-Online in 2017 but the allegedly-infringing content reappeared shortly after it was apparently “deleted” by the platform.
