Re: 'Why atheism would be not a belief?' - Here's why
Let me clarify this misunderstanding & explain why atheism isn't a belief here. (N.B. The responses are from xyzde69 to CalumH's original post)

I'm a Christian apostate and atheist from the time I reached the age of reason (early 20's for me), mainly due to the complete absence of any compelling evidence whatsoever, but also for the problem of suffering in the world. Call me arrogant, but if gods and the afterlife do exist, I've got a few choice words ready for him/her/it/them when my time comes.
I see the term 'atheist' being misused all the time. I'd like to clarify that by identifying as an atheist one isn't claiming there are no gods. All it means is they don't believe in them. There are 'strong' atheists who go so far as to claim gods aren't real, but I wonder what evidence they are basing that on. Aren't strong atheists in the same boat as theists in that regard? Thanks for this thread. I haven't read it all yet, so sorry if I said something that's been discussed to death already. There aren't many people that I know in my neck of the woods (bible belt USA) with whom I can have calm and intelligent conversations on this subject. I come across this on a porn form...
For me...I trust in a Goddess, rather do that then just believe in a almighty. I have seen perfection, you wanna compare,...a vision of Aphrodite, if Gods and Goddesses exist This bullshit about a blond blue eyed, what is imagined for a Goddess, way wrong. Look at Sabrina West aka Sara Lynn, she is perfect in a mystic way

Interesting thread.
Religion. I really don't get what it actually is, since I'm not religious at all. Never had any contanct with religion outside of being a wedding guest. - Religion is such a distant concept for me, it's all so vague and silly. - But then to other people it's serious business. And I really don't grasp why. All I can come up with to define religion: It's like a hobby for other people. Yes, I look at religious people and the many different religions in the world like they are fans of different sport teams. If you're like me who has no interest in sport at all, I couldn't care less when or where the games are, who is playing against who and who wins... because it doesn't really matter to me. |
