Cool SPECTRE !

You can see ( not in order ) The director, Barbara Broccoli, Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux, Monica Bellucci, during the presentation of SPECTRE Cast.

The title of the film is disturbing to me. The poster ad disturbs me too. A mixture of ball impact and octopus Spectre logo.
Very very curious logo.
How not to think OHMSS?
A reference undoubtedly desired. Blofeld not dead? Waltz in the role of a number 2 ( Thunderball Adolfo Celi kind ?) ?
Sam Mendez said that there will be skiing in action scenes!
I think if they revive Blofeld, that would be ridiculous.
The son of Blofeld and his mistress Irma Bunt? Ridiculous too. (For those who do not know the books, actually, Blofeld is the lover of Bunt).
A madman who reinvents the legendary Spectre? Why not.
But why invent a " sub-Blofeld ? ". Did they have some imagination ?

I'm going to serve me a martini-vodka, and think about all this.

Don't forget this is a reboot of Bond. You should put out of your memory any link to the past. It is perfectly reasonable to have someone who may not be Blofeld, but could end up as him-remember the original was called Comte de Bleauchamp(OHMSS) Blofeld was an anglisized name. I think Waltz will be very good as Oberhauser-and who knows maybe that annoying cat will re-appear. We have gone backwards to the beginning from Casino Royale to Skyfall where we see Bond become 007 and then a new 'M' is installed-male this time. What would have been really fun was to have Sean Connery or Roger Moore appear as Blofeld-now that would have really put the cat amongst the pigeons with fans. I can't wait to see this Bond film, so any stuff from now until next October will be eagerly awaited by this fan. Love the new car, DB10. I wonder if it will be filled with gadgets or indeed Bond has any gadgets in this new film.
Irma Bunt was his lover? Surely not-then again I would doubt she looked like the actress in O.H.M.S.S. or maybe that was deliberately done.

Apart from thinking how fake Lea Seydoux's greeting of Sam Mendes was, the one question in my mind was - what does this mean for Quantum, who I read as the new, modern SPECTRE? I bet there are some ambitious young British actresses kicking themselves they didn't get the key parts. (Then again, the woman from the Bank of England in Casino Royale was played by a Frenchwoman...)

Brilliant stuff re: next Bond flick, Spectre! I am so happy to see Sam Mendez return to do another - because quite honestly, Skyfall hit such a high mark, I was worried the next installment would really be a letdown. I'm not worried any more. And if this will, by any chance, be an homage to OHMSS (one of my personal favorites) then I think the cameo appearance should be given to the wonderful Diana Rigg.....somehow - someway. She was the true star of OHMSS, and remains the greatest Bond girl of all time.....

Really looking forward to this now.

The idea of Blofeld hiding under an assumed name was also in Fleming's You Only Live Twice.

Question Ernst Stavro or not Ersnt Stavro ? That is the question !

In my last post, I meant that the spectrum is ancient history. And the writers could invent something else. Movies with the Spectre, and Ernst Stavro Blofeld, are all my favorite, with Goldfinger. The first 7 films (The first 6 to be exact, Cause Diamonds was far from expectations that we had at the time, in 69/70, after the superb OHMSS.).
Good. This film is called SPECTRE. But do not forget that in the past, we began to hear of this organization since Dr. No! Here we will perhaps have a man, ( Waltz ? ) who work hand to hand with Ernst Stavro, without the Master of the Spectre appears.
Remember : We have heard of SPECTRE in DR NO. In the following, FRWL we saw his hands and the back of his head (he had hair). Then, in Thunderball, just a shadow. Finally, in Yolt, Bond has been at the heart of SPECTRE, Ernst faced with.
Then OHMSS and diamonds, so that finally the spectre disappears. (I am not speaking of ridicule Blofeld in FYEO, which is not mentioned, because of endless trials Kevin McClory and company.)
This next opus proves that Eon finally recovered the rights in full, for Spectre and Blofeld.
So, in the past, it took six films for overcoming SPECTRE.
They may need us as much to get to the end of the one that will bloom in the next film ?
Oops, I will again drink a Martini-Vodka to think about this. Maybe two, eventually.

I seem to recall that FOUR different actors have already played BLOFELD in one form or another..... I'm too tired to name them now; besides, I'm sure GM or MrB will enjoy naming them all for us within hours......?

Donald Pleasance(YOLT) probably the best one, Telly Savalas(OHMSS), Charles Gray(D iamonds Are Forever-who had been 'Our man Henderson' in YOLT)He 'seen'(Anthony Dawson) and heard(Eric Pohlmann) in 'From Russia with Love' and the 'Blofeld' who gets dumped down the chimney at the beginning of 'For Your Eyes Only' is John Hollis(voiced by Robert Rietti)-Source-Wikipedia. I like a challenge PEgypt

I read this morning that fans have already started to speculate that the character Oberhauser(Christoph Waltz) will become Blofeld as apparently the name Oberhauser was the man that taught Bond to climb in the books. Also they think that Andrew Scott's character of Denbigh MI6 might turn out to be a double-agent. Doh! Those conspiracy theories and wild speculation will continue for the next months I reckon.

Here are some facts gleaned from the Daily Mail this morning:

007-Bond's code number was inspired by a bus route that still runs from Deal, Kent to London and was regularly used by author Ian Fleming.

370 on-screen enemies killed by Bond

62 Number of women Bond has kissed in the films

400 explosions in the 23 movie series.

20+vodka martinis drunk by 007 (but now he drinks Heineken)

29 tuxedos worn by James Bond

19 Age of the youngest Bond girl, Alison Doody in 'A View To A Kill' (her 007, Roger Moore was 57)

135 characters 'killed' by Pierce Brosnan, making him the deadliest Bond

14 Bond books by Ian Fleming, selling more than 100 million worldwide

£100m taken by 2012's Skyfall, making the most successful film ever at the British box office.

£3m Price of Bond's 1965 Aston Martin DB5 when it was sold last year.
(Whoever complied all this need to get out more )

And incidentally they are selling the Avro Jet from Octopussy. Owner was Corkey Fornoff who flew it and did the stunts in the film. Also being sold is a chair used by Donald Pleasance in You Only Live Twice(Blofeld's chair) worth £2,000 and a green hovercraft piloted by Pierce Brosnan in Die Another Day which could fetch £30,000 and the phone he used in Tomorrow Never Dies to control his BMW expected to fetch £3,000.
