Old porn mags - are they valuable?

I know there are some real experts in here, and I'd be very interested to know what value the old mags have, if anyone has any info, thanks.

My wife is well aware of my little collection, but doesn't know what to do with them when I snuff it. We thought of leaving one on every doorstep in our locality, just for a laugh (!), but seriously, what would be the best way to get rid of them for a bit of cash? There may be others here with a similar 'problem', or some who'd like to raise some cash now.

Any thoughts please?

Many of us would probably like to see the covers of your collection, and after that, some of the mags or stories scanned..

I've often thought it would be useful to have a section for private sales/trades of magazines and videos, providing it doesn't contravene any laws the site is operating under. Many people must have duplicates or items they don't want and would like to get shot of, and others would be interested in getting items without paying some of the outrageous prices of certain websites. Most useful of all would be the possibility of dealing with someone from their own locality.

Maybe restricted to premium members to prevent spammers and professional dealers.

Just a thought.

If you take a look at eBay you can find vintage mags selling for quite a lot. I have seen some items at 4-5 times their original cost or more in some cases. It is only going to escalate over the next few years. The value is usually determined by the female star and the rarity.

The problem in the UK is eBay's highly restrictive T&Cs when it comes to anything vaguely sex-related. Porn mags are an absolute nono. eBay.com might be different perhaps. QXL still seem OK with them, but there aren't enough users to make a proper market. If eBay go ahead with the rumoured bid, things might change.

I didn't.. I suppose it's prohibited, adult vids and DVDs have been banned there too.
