Angry

The thing that is really getting right up my nose at the moment is seeing people select a bunch of bananas, and then putting the bunch into a plastic bag before putting the bag into their trolley.

Why?

Are they afraid the bananas will slip through the mesh of the trolley, perhaps they will form two distinct bunches and will have to be scanned separately thus spoiling the symmetry of the till receipt, perhaps they will get confused about just how much the whole bunch cost?

How can we save the bloody planet when you people are putting bananas, which are a perfect, self contained fruit, into a plastic bag which you will tear open as soon as you get home and stick in the bin.

In conclusion, Grrrr

People obsessed with hot weather.

I can't stand it when it gets too hot. You dont have much choice except to sweat like a pigs crotch in heat. it infuriates me beyond belief why a huge swathe of the British public is obsessed with hot weather, the hotter the better it seems. And the stupid weather girls absolutly have multiple orgasms when they announcing its anything above 70 degrees!

You sweat, your clothes stink, you look as if someone has dipped you in oil.

No offence to mediterannian nations but when you see these countries the one thing that strikes me that they look like dust bowls, because they hardly have any rain. Rain=green fertile land. Not a pile of rocks in a sand storm.

You can keep yer hot weather, the UK is a wet cool nation and i'd like to keep it that way and to my fellow countrymen if you dont like it then Ryan air is awaiting your business.

Rant over.

Currently watching Spain vs USA in the Confederations Cup (USA won 2-0, in case you're interested)...and my gripe is:

Whenever a minor footballing (ok - Soccer) nation takes on one of the major footy teams (ie: Spain, Italy, Germany, Brazil, but especially England) the TV commentator's stance is to treat the minnows like a plucky underdog, and expresses surprise should the "underdog" nation takes the lead against the more experienced side (the BBC are the worst offenders, imo)

On a more serious note I guess one of the most annoying things to me is arrogance. Stuff anyone who disagrees...

Default injurylawyers4u.com

I have a particular dislike for parasites.

This is not a generalised dig at the legal profession, or even at personal injury specialists within the legal profession. I have myself once had to take legal action (the Metropolitan Police stretched a tape across the road just before I came up on my motorbike. It was like Steve McQueen in The Great Escape). My gripe is against the advertising of their service: I don't think that a litigious society which seeks to treat the courts as a casino with free chips is a particularly good thing. Accidents do happen and it isn't always someone elses' fault (preferably someone with liability insurance or really deep pockets).

injurylawyers4u are a particular irritation just now. Their tag line:
100% lawyers
100% compensation

annoys me. 100% lawyers: so they use fully qualified lawyers to type their own letters and collate and add up the travel tickets and medical invoices do they? Very cost effective.. 100% compensation: meaning that the bill for the legal fees is paid seperately by the other party, instead of being deducted as a percentage of the damages. But there is a clause in the Solicitors Accounts Rules which prohibits solicitors from drawing their fee from the compensation banked on behalf of their client, because compensation is clients' money, not solicitors' money. So injurylawyers4u are misleading us while telling the truth.

This sort of thing makes the legal profession look bad because other solicitors are dishonoured by association with these parasites.

injurylawyers4u.com: they think ethics is a county near middlethex and north of suthex.

Agreed, scoudrel! In even more exact terms, I have a real dislike for people who basically profit from other people's misfortune. And I'm sorry, I don't want to offend anyone here, there's exceptions to every rule. But in general, pawnbrokers, lawyers, real estate foreclosure auctioneers, taxmen and insurance agents, loan companies, repo men, and bill collectors. I just couldn't do stuff like that myself. You have to be heartless. Putting people out on the street to make a profit. Or pawnbrokers, and antique appraisers, and such cheating unknowing people as to the value of their goods. Or credit card companies and "rent to own" stores charging outlandish interest rates, usually to poorer people that go there because they can't afford to buy their furniture or appliances outright, or have bad credit. I just visited a rent to own place just to see what the deal was. They had flat screen tv's that you could buy at WalMart for around $700-$800. They were selling them at a monthly rate of around $35 that would end up costing over $2500 over the life of the payments! I truly believe there will be a special place in hell for people such as that! If not, there should be.

You are right brian, there was a thing in one of our papers about one of these shops (I wont say the name but it rhymes with shitehouse) so I had a look in one I could not believe it, the APR was 39% and there are single parent familys and people on benefits signing up left right and centre to pay these rediculous payments!
But dont you think that it is because we live in a consumer based society that people feel the need to sign up for these things they 'cant live without' and hence these parasites prosper!

I heard one contestant a while back basically say his music taste began in 1958 and ended in around 1962, then he proceeded to say all the answers were after his time. Had an image of someone in black and white wearing a knotted hanky with a picture of Harold MacMillan on the wall, next to a map of the world predominantly pink where the sun never sets on the British Empire.
