The D&D never made court I was given a bollocking. The other incident got me another telling off from the magistrate. I escaped a fine.
Can't believe so few have not been arrested.

I have been arrested 4 times. Been in front of Da Judge 3 times. Spent a few nights and actually a few days in the ol' hoosegow. I know this will sound shocking but nothing about it was much fun. A loud, uncomfortable place with bad décor, bad food and bad people. I was a much younger and more reckless lad then. Age brings a bit of experience and, at the very least, a slower pace of life. I have avoided trouble for a good 25 years now. Knock on wood.

I've always thought that was a good additional verdict-it told the world-'we think the bastard did it-but the evidence isn't quite strong enough..' -definitely not the same as 'not guilty' m'lud.... |

Been arrested twice once for assaulting a police officer, but was never charged as it was proved I was trying to stop them ripping my friends arm off which was attached to a shop window he had fallen through as he tripped on the pavement as we ran for the late night bus, I must say both arms almost wrapped around my neck is jolly painful.
Second time was for stealing fruit and veg off the back of a lorry, my one and only appearance in a magistrates court and a fine of Ł5. On a third occasion a seven man team and a dog raided our flat when first married looking for drugs, the officer in charge was less impressed when I told him he was f88888 deluded and he could impound the packet of anadin. All they found was a book with Barnet General hospital stamped on the inside cover and I was informed if it was still here when they returned, they never came back, I would be arrested, I re-advised him was even more f88888 deluded than I had first thought and could he not find better ways of wasting tax payers money and is it ok if I use the toilet now as I think I have s888 myself. I was warned about my language and anymore would result in an arrest and at this point back to Tower Hill nick they went, as I headed for the loo. We still have the book, Lorna Doon. |

When I went to court I was warned about my language I was effing like a trooper. They kicked me in the shins to hurt me and it did I called this guy a effing wanker and got another boot in the shins. But I got off and walked away with sore shins.

Arrested once for ABH, found not guilty due to lack of evidence in court.
(a second good kicking to the guy, who deserved it for groping my somewhat drunken and half naked girlfriend, made sure he didn't attend court) Not arrested, but taken to court for "selling materials likely to outrage public decency" during my sex shop days a couple of times. Got lucky both times. Despite a charge of "conspiracy to pervert the course of justice" also being added on the second time, due to ten of us in the same trade; but supposedly unconnected and unaware of each others involvement in various linked shops; all using the same brief and then barrister; which i said was a bad idea but no one would listen to me. We all got off pretty much scott-free due to having hung it out over four years; the one thing the brief got right; and the judge stupid enough to think we'd all moved on by then.... which most of us hadn't..... Ł100 fine and 3yr conditional discharge for me, and the end of more than four years in the most 'interesting' and lucrative job i've ever had. Idiots before us who had chosen to rush the courts into a decision so they could actually move on all got 'custodials' of between six months and two years..... unlucky, but silly buggers! Much easier to finally move on with no prison time on your CV.

Never been arrested although there was this one incident........
A drunken slag did something to drunken me (the "good" guy ). Very messy, anyways......I realised a profound truth. Women. Trust them at your peril (p*ssed or s*ber ) A public service announcement to all VEF members: Never underestimate how insanely vicious a woman can be. |

Stopped & arrested for DWI, after a Christmas party (and I was hammered!). Supposedly, company vehicle I was driving had much larger tires put on & speedo read 10mph slower than you were actually going (Well, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it!) Reduced to a Reckless (my lawyer had campaigned for the DA), cost about $1500U.S. back then. Cop was my neighbor, a sullen prick who spent all his off-hours reloading ammunition in his garage. Is it wrong to hope to pick up the local paper some day and find he finally swallowed the barrel? Did not like jail at all! There's criminals in there BB! |

It is a remarkable coincidence that this thread was just created in the last few days.
I was just RELEASED from jail on the 2nd of May. On April 8th I was trimming the hedge in front of my house when 2 members of the Chatham County Sheriffs office showed up and took me into custody on behalf of the Dekalb County (one of the 5 counties that make up the Atlanta Metropolitan Area) Probation Department. The warrant they were executing was for a SIXTEEN YEAR OLD TRAFFIC VIOLATION. I was not even allowed to go into my house in order to retrieve my wallet before they shoved me into the back of a patrol car and whisked me to the Chatham County Jail. I sat there for 4 days before I was extradicted to Dekalb - a distance of 250 miles. On May 1 I was finally taken to court - where the Judge immediately dismissed my case because it exceeded the Statute of Limitations (which in the US is a period of 7 years) I was released in the early hours of May 2 and unceremoniously turned out into the streets of Metro Atlanta. I had not be allowed to retrieve my wallet which meant I was 250 miles from home with NO IDENTIFICATION, NO MONEY AND NO ACCESS TO MONEY. One of my daughters had to drive from Saint Augustine Florida to Atlanta - some 600 miles - to pick me up and take me home. It reads almost like Kafka story. It's almost laughable. I say ALMOST: Because: My 15 year old cat whom I had raised from the time she was small enough to entirely fit in the palm of my hand - My AVATAR on this forum - had STARVED TO DEATH while I was in Jail. I found her lying in my bedroom doorway when I returned home on May 3rd. I will be haunted by this image every day for the remainder of my life. I am divorced, my children are all grown, and I live alone. My cat had been my best friend for over a quarter of my lifetime. And she had died believing that the only being she had ever loved had abandoned and forsaken her. It is the most horrific death I can possibly imagine. A death I would not wish on Hitler. I now fully understand why people kill Police Officers. I could walk into the Dekalb Probation Office - the cocksuckers who instituted this travesty - and KILL EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS. With a smile on my face. Completely devoid of guilt. As an act of devine retribution so unspotted and just that the gods themselves would throw incense upon it. My friends, I ask that you say a prayer for Euphrates.

I found Elise (my kitty) after she'd been abandoned in a snow drift. She was just chucked in and left. Who the hell does that!? She fit easily in the palm of my hand, but had been fixed and weaned. She was the best cat ever and was the light of my life during a really difficult time. When everything else fell apart and my life was in shambles, she kept me sane. When I was so stressed out I couldn't sleep, she would curl up next to me and just purr softly until I was able to close my eyes and finally drift off. I'm sure this sounds crazy to most, but she trusted me and I let her down. I couldn't even say goodbye. It just about killed me. It still makes me sad. I'm sorry friends, I'm probably not helping. I really just meant to let theequestrian know that I understand and that he has my heart felt sympathy. Okay, back to the original intent of this thread...
