If I remember Chicago geography, E 53rd is somewhere in the Hyde Park area.. which is still a few miles south of Comiskey Park.

If that ain't south side, I don't know what is.

I was surprised when I searched in this thread that nothing showed when I put in the word "freezing".


Anyway I was wondering after watching a couple of videos below if any body fluids froze in extreme cold?



I think it would be amazing to see a frozen ejaculation?

The answer is yes if you don't mind pretty cool water. If Lake Michigan gets past 60 degrees F Chicagoans will say "That's as warm as it gets." This usually happens about Labor Day (first Monday in September) after which the city government closes the beaches. How do I know? I lived with my grandparents for 10 years about 10 blocks from Lake Michigan on da beyoutifull and scenic South Side of Chicago. Go White Sox! (Where? I'm not sure.)

The other answer is the people who live in these neighborhoods are largely poor. This is true of many of the apartment neighborhoods on Chicago's South Side and any other city for that matter. There are plenty of nice bungalow neighborhoods on the South Side for middle and working class blacks, Hispanics, and whites. They are usually segregated but might be mixed. Sometimes these sit right across the street from the apartment neighborhoods. There are also areas to avoid on the West and North Sides. Check them out before visiting. A knowledgeable local would be helpful.

I agree with Paddy Bog, but I would add a couple of points. Before and after Chicago I have lived in the Pacific Northwest. Given the depth, configuration, and currents in the Salish Sea, salt water swimming areas are too cold for extended swimming. Depending on one's physical condition, hypothermia can be fatal in as little as half an hour.

So I found Lake Michigan to be tolerably warm for extended swimming in spring and summer.

Regarding the quality of the water, Lake Superior and Lake Michigan go back and forth over having the cleanest water of the Great Lakes. Given its Democratic political bent, Chicago has long gone to great lengths to prevent the pollution of Lake Michigan.
