I wouldn't wish to guess at a broad trend from a few personal experiences, but something quite similar happened with me. My mother needed to be taken care of (alcoholism, then later, cancer), and I have two sisters, but it was always down to me to talk to doctors, pick up prescriptions, and do the, ya know, less pleasant jobs like clean out her breathing tube, while still working full time. Then I had to organise her funeral, sort out her 'estate' (a nightmare, because she just had debts). I'm not the oldest or the youngest, I'm just the male.

Women do indeed talk a good game.

I live in a Latin area. Men still have bollocks and women like this (or have to )!

More you go to the South, more men still have THE leadership.
When I read you both, it seems that women emancipation was wrong.

When I went in Norway, women were commanding men, when I was in Serbia/Macedonia/Albania, men were speaking in the bars when women had to work in the orchards.

My British friends! It's time for you to retake the reins if you don't want to be eaten raw.

Sometimes I agree with you. Female emancipation is a wonderful thing, but in some cases it has gone too far, and what some women feel entitled to just for existing, and behaving like deranged toddlers if they don't get their own way with no fear of censure, is quite outrageous.

As for Serbia, I have to disagree with you. Wasn't impressed by how I saw women carrying big heavy loads while her husband slobs about. Not cool.

The thing is, I find 'having bollocks' as you put it, to be deeply tedious. Personally, I have no interest in being an 'alpha male', I just want to get on with my life. Every individual, male or female, should be judged by their own actions, and nothing else
