On the subject of David Rose's the Stripper, I seem to recall a number of hotter versions, one of which is heard whilst Terry Jones 'strips' off in Monty Python's Flying Circus-I am not sure which episode it was, but it sounded good although the thought of Terry Jones naked rather spoilt it
I also recall(mentioned on a tv related thread) strippers in tv programmes that used more soft-rock music rather than the jazz sort-one that springs to mind was Brandy Di Frank in an episode of "The Sweeney"-not much to look at though-somehow I feel they could have found a better looking girl.

Just did a quick scan of Youtube and found "The Stripper" by David Rose(whom I had no idea was once married to Martha Raye(American funny woman) & Judy Garland!
Enjoy http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=6-9F_H...eature=related

http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=bKwFwmicbUc ...the the music is "Black and Tan Fantasy", but there is another Terry Jones strip (maybe he enjoyed it!) which uses "The Stripper". I've not heard a better arrangement that the one on the David Rose CD (I've heard plenty of worse ones though!) I'll see if I can find the Terry Jones routine we are bothing thinking of. |

You're right there, it's funny how you associate things, you said Pink Panther theme and that tune immediately sprang to mind for me, I always forget about the TV series.

The sequence has Jones running about trying to find a place to take his clothes off-he looks like a deckchair in his striped jacket-but this one looks about the same. I didn't actually listen to it because I just saw the thing and played it with the sound off to listen to later. Black and Tan is a very sleazy type jazz tune that some strippers use but you can't quite hear it thanks to laughs from the audience and Jones reciting something about economic policy-he finally finds a room to get undressed but he is actually in a hall!

The one problem with these youtube videos is that the whooping of the over-enthusiastic audiences often spoils the 'act' and you can barely hear the music.

I havn't checked back on this thread for a while so I hadn't seen the extra replies
Nordsee: If you mean the pictures from the GGGGG site, I don't have any of them anymore I'm afraid. If you mean the music then yes I still have a decent collection of striptease music on my PC... ...which brings me rather neatly to this little gem that I came across (no pun intended) today on YouTube. Its a rather nice alternative arrangement of David Rose's "The Stripper" and for me a completely new one. I'm enjoying listening to it very, very much |

Maybe I'm way off base here, I don't know, but when I was prowling around in midtown Manhattan back in the late seventies, the girls were all dancin' to Barry White's Ecstasy When You Lay Down Next To Me. I've loved that one ever since, along with some of his others, like I'm Gonna Love You Just A Little More Baby, Playin' Your Game, etc...... man, those tunes are erotic. The first two that I mentioned are really good bump and grinds, with a heavy backbeat.
Another tune that comes to mind is Urgent from Foreigner 4, I believe. What a steamy sax solo in that! I've seen girls dance to that one, too. That's a great stripper song, imho Also, in the soundtrack from The Graduate there is a great bump and grind that they used for the stripper scene in that film. That tune features a growly sax lead. Absolutely smokin'. Last edited by edgarcasey; December 13th, 2008 at 05:53 AM.. |
