I have no doubt that will reduce job prospects for her fellow Muslims in that sector of the market. Another example of a brave warrior for the faith going for the easiest of targets, beheading civilians and burning prisoners alive; Saladin would turn in his grave if he knew about some of the current flotsam who claim to be soldiers of the cause he once fought for.
I hope she is found a cell to share with a suitable psychopath and the warders get distracted for a few hours.

Interesting question of course there is no typical Londoner but as a Northerner I find most Londoners hard work and self centred.
As an example a few years ago I had to travel from Twickenham to London, I think Waterloo late at night, I just caught the last train then had to walk to Euston station in the early hours. I was wearing an Iron Maiden t-shirt as I had just been to a concert and when a few people saw it they asked me how the gig was, they were from Wales and Yorkshire, the native Londoners buried their heads in the papers almost embarrassed by the fact that total strangers were talking to each other as normal people do up North; we talked for about 40 minutes till the end of the journey then wished each other good luck.
On the way to Euston I had no idea where I was heading so I asked several people for directions, and got no responses although a London policeman did manage to send me the wrong way (thick or rude ... the jury's still out

) the only people who gave any sensible answers were some Scandinavian tourists and again some rock fans from up North who saw my t-shirt.

I saw Jeanne Wolf a respected Hollywood journalist making predictions for the Oscars and she was convinced, as was most of Hollywood that Sly Stalone would win best supporting actor-imagine his surprise when he didn't and it went to our own Mark Rylance for Bridge of Spies! Can we claim Alicia Vikander as one of our own, even though she is Swedish-born? Sam Smith(Spectre-Writing's on the Wall) and Jenny Beaven(Mad Max costume) were the other British winners of Oscars.

Anyone get that newspaper 'The New Day'? We got it free this morning with our usual papers. It's not bad but I am not sure how long it will last and it costs 50p. Most people can pick up a copy of METRO for free at railway/tube stations anyway.

Some (well quite a few) of these people are simply barking. I'm not sure there's much more you can say about this.

A Southerner in Praise of the North!!!

A former soldier I know. has had a disastrous start to his year. On Christmas day, his boss died and because he was in tied accommodation, he was given notice to leave. He found somewhere else, fully furnished, and was about to move, when three days before the move date, it fell through. Helped by Soldiers of the Streets, he found somewhere else, but unfurnished.

A Royal British Legion Volunteer, put a message on face book, the local folk have rallied round and donated sofa's, a bed, kitchen stuff, rugs and so on. One couple even promised him a meal if he needed it! They do not know him, never met him, just were there for him. I will never say a bad word about Northerners again.

Proud folk of whom we can be proud!
