Oto there is no such thing as a free lunch. While one is getting the freebie others have put their money, usually taxes, into it. So while some do get free stuff others always pay for it.

Okoto; STF: there used to be such a thing as a free lunch, but I scoffed it. I will probably vote to stay in, but my concern is that I would need to absolutely clear on what we are agreeing to if we do stay in. Last time it turned out that we had said yes to a whole load of questions which were never asked.

No kids for you!

I guess you better import some real, burka-clad women, before it's too late!

Or, you could import more of this:

On top of taxes many have to dip into their savings (if they have any)

Another example of why we are losing in Afghanistan. http://news.yahoo.com/video/green-be...142814937.html

Most of us know that the Afghans like to bone little boys. I mean, they make movies about it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Kite_Runner_(film) http://nypost.com/2015/09/25/yes-our...an-pedophiles/

So we punish our troops for enforcing our morals on our allies. The outrage over this will die down with time but really, what else can we officially do? Whether we are there or not, little boys will still be boned. Now we just get everyone mad at us. A no win situation.

Burn the whole place down and make it a parking lot - ? Not an option.

NHS 111 helpline safety questioned by top paediatrician
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-35614575

I know from personal experience how quirky the 111 service is, I had warning signs with involuntary muscle spasms that lasted several minutes I ignored the first but after the second I called 111 and not 999 as I thought I was saving the NHS money. The 111 operator pratted about for a while then arranged for a Doctor to call me back. I had to insist that I actually see a Doctor face to face straight away, he was trying to persuade me to go to bed and sleep on it. I saw two GP's one at Hospital that night and my one at own local GP practice the next day all those involved only went by what they saw at the time and ignored my symptoms as they could not be duplicated but there were clear signs something was wrong. I knew that there was an issue and my body was giving me clues but as they could not see it they sent me home, the day after I had a stroke.
It's hit and miss but I have been told if I had ignored 111 and turned up at A&E with the symptoms I had they would have kept me overnight and arranged a brain scan the next day, that could have spotted the blood clot and prevented the stroke.
A friend also had serious issues with them and hung up and went straight to a walk in centre where they could actually see the swellings that had worried her and prescribe the medicines needed.
It may seem like a good idea in principal but it is very hit and miss, I've no doubt it has helped others but as far as personal experience goes it could do better.

"Pai makes another vital point about the importance of embracing free-speech ideals. "The text of the First Amendment is enshrined in our Constitution, but there are certain cultural values that undergird the amendment that are critical for its protections to have actual meaning. If that culture starts to wither away, then so too will the freedom that it supports," he warned.

The FCC commissioner touched on an alarming trend that goes well beyond free speech, although it is most clearly on display in that arena: the camouflaging of government power through "voluntary" cooperation between Big Government and Big Business. Pai spoke of influential officials musing that certain information sources, such as the Drudge Report or Fox News, have gained too much power to influence public discourse... at which point Internet service providers might take the hint, using their "private-sector" powers to quietly implement speech restrictions the government can't order directly.

The German government provided a direct example of this by making deals with Facebook, Twitter, and other social media platforms to suppress... unhelpful dissent over Chancellor Angela Merkel's refugee policies."

Personally, I would have considered that an appropriate option after 9/11, and added Riyadh and Mecca to the list.
Instead, GWB gave a speech about how "Islam is peace" and prattled on about our "Muslim brothers and sisters" while the ruins of the WTC were still smoking.

Imagine if FDR had given a speech about how "Hirohito Shintoism is peace" and spoke of our "Japanese brothers and sisters" immediately after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. SMH.
