Thanks, its a good job im protected
Always use you protection

And dont always believe what your protection tells you its found and removed

This false alarm scenario has been repeated many times over the years
even by the best like kaspersky

AVG just happens to be one of the worst at them

http://www.av-comparatives.org/false-alarm-tests/

The last time this site checked them out 10 months ago when they were active
34 different scanners said they were clean

Each to their own on this buttsie, everyone is entitled to their own opinions & choices that they make.

I have always known there is a possibility of false alarm scenario's within all virus/spyware/malware detection software, & yes including AVG as I do know that AVG does have a quite a number of false detections but ive always trusted AVG to keep me safe while over the internet & AVG is not a scam program.

I've known a local professional computer forensic computer repair & service engineer who the crime team have called upon a number of times for his profession, where even protection clothing has to be worn at all times when handling the computers recommend AVG. Its this engineer who first brought my attention to AVG when I took my broken Mac in for repairs.

False detection or not, my view is this, its better to be safe than sorry, if a anti-virus software that has been recommended to you alarms you with any message of a threat of any kind while your over the internet, you should always take it seriously & act accordingly, even if in doubt or suspect it to be false, its not worth risking your PC documents & files for.

I clicked that link by the op, was prompted with that threat message & my first reaction was to believe it sorry buttsie, but I myself would rather instinctively believe & feel safe even if there was a possibility of a false detection. After all there might be be a small possibity of the vast majority of anti virus software programs who may have tested a website deemed it safe that was reported say back in lets say march but that website may indeed pickup up a virus itself later in say october, after it was deemed safe by the vast majority, & infact the current alarm from your own anti-virus software may indeed be valid, its very unlikely to happen but it could.

To summarize my views on this are its better to "always believe what your protection tells you its found and removed" while youve on the internet is indeed fact even if it may not be the case & you could be wrong.

I myself would rather look the fool just like now, be wrong about taking seriously & believing a false threat, than to just not believe or take seriously a threat at all that the anti-virus software detects.

I quite agree erring on the cautious side is wise

Once you've reported a dozen alerts and none have got a response from those checking it does wear off pretty quickly

For next time

Hit the red and white triangle button on the left
and someone will look into it quickly

- as mentioned right down the bottom of the forum rules

Reporting a post: If you see harmful links, spam or other problem posts, then click the button in that post, add a small comment about it, and press 'Send Report.' This will help us to spot and remove them quicker:

http://vintage-erotica-forum.com/announcement.php?f=6

Post it in a thread and a Mod might look at sometime in the future
or simply put it down as another false positive when their security doesnt go off.

Thankyou just go's to show you, ive read the rules 3+ times since ive been more active in VEF, i have read that, & was aware but the rule didn't register with me late last night, I simply forgot, it also shows you that you do need to keep reading the rules more often for the rules to actually sink in, you might think you have read and understood all ruling, but there might be 1 or 2 rules that may slip your mind when put in a situation that a rule applies to. On reflection hitting the red and white triangle button is the action I should have taken, my sincere apologies regards to that my fault, sorry, im still going through a few teething problems in VEF, but I will get there.

One or more of the plugins took the site down. Likely the VBSEO portion but the admins can't log in due to the redirects. Tiger is the owner of the site but he has largely been absent in taking care of the site since he reloaded it from a backup from 6 to 7 years back when it was hacked. At least after that hack in 2012, if you knew the exact path to the gallery you could still download the images so the site was still running even though the forums were down for a good 2 years. Now, almost 400k images are lost.

Yep. There have been attempts to contact Tiger with no luck. Tiger may still have that good backup from 7 or 8 years back but he has not been online for about a year or so and the admins only have the passwords to the vbulletin area but not the server/server admin themselves. One of the admins knows him personally, but he never thought to give this person full server passwords. The only hope may be a freak system reboot on its own and the box performing a DB repair or rollback on restart. It had done that once or twice before when it became very unstable but that may not happen this time.
