If NSW cyclists are anything like Berkeley/Oakland cyclists they are indeed stupid and dangerous. I take it they routinely fail to observe stop signs and traffic signals, ride on the wrong side of the road and against traffic on one way streets, illegally ride on the sidewalks and bully pedestrians out of their way. One of these days I will wind up hitting one of these dummies and they will be shocked to learn that they are not only responsible for their own medical expenses but also liable for damages to my car.

You've just accurately described a breed of cyclist common in a lot of countries..particularly in urban areas....it seems to have a causal relationship with wearing lycra....as does the delusion that wearing lycra obviates any need to obey the road rules....but ongoing studies seem to demonstrate that the 'lycra forcefield' has rather poor protective qualities....

You take it correctly. I don't mind having to look out for some slightly chubby, bearded, helmeted bloke riding for exercise, but the authorities should have an open season on Lycra Warriors.

I'm in the midst of getting a bicycle. I can't imagine using it for lengthy trips. I'm ****** to know why people ride in some of the places I drive. It might not mean much to people not living near the area. But seeing riders on Springvale Rd & Rosanna rd. Do they not know how ****** dangerous that is???
