A Belated But Most Heartfelt RIP to Oskar The Blind Cat, who passed away unexpectedly on February 5th 2018.

Oskar, blind from birth, was discovered as a kitten on a farm in 2011. He became a beloved brother to Klaus, his adopters' other rescue cat, as well as to a pair of human infant siblings. Oskar's enthusiasm for life inspired his human caretakers to start a charitable enterprise on behalf of all special needs pets (plus other causes), and they plan to keep doing their good work.

I'm devastated. He was one of my favorite French jazz musicians. Honestly, I thought he was much older than 62. What a loss to music.

Japanese actor Ren Osugi has suddenly died. Early reports indicate the cause of death was a heart attack.
Western viewers will know him from his work with director Takashi Miike and his role in Shin Godzilla.

EDIT: Cause of death has been determined as heart failure and not heart attack as previously rumored.

Barbara Alston, Crystals Singer on ’60s Hits Like ‘Da Doo Ron Ron,’ Dies at 74

She died on Feb. 16 from complications from the flu, her daughter told BBC News.

The Crystals were best known for working with Wall of Sound producer Phil Spector and for their hit singles "Da Doo Ron Ron," "Then He Kissed Me" and "There's No Other Like My Baby."
