As Scounds says, when the lottery was launched, all the money was to go to good causes. The Labour Government diverted much of these funds to places that I found a bit odd! The Millennium Dome, not a popular project, but now a popular venue!

But most of all, for a socialist government, tens of millions for the ballet, probably the most elite form of entertainment! But to Blair's government, probably far more worthy than say, a community sports project in an inner city!

Oh Christ Dingwall ! Did a gig there once - they roll up the pavements and take in the trees at 5.30pm sharp.

For me this is noticeable as it is the first big superhero film I have personally chosen not to see on the opening day for years.
I am a big Marvel comics fan but I did see Green Lantern on its release date and enjoyed it so it's not just a Marvel v DC bias.

DC have a great TV presence now with Gotham, Arrow and The Flash, I'll skip aside Legends of Tomorrow

As it is also a bank holiday and the film is 12A any screening will no doubt be full of coke drinking, popcorn rustling "who's that?" asking rugrats, I'd sooner take on Lex Luthor and Doomsday myself

I'll leave it for a few weeks.
I saw it today and loved it.

They released video of the British Tourist being murdered in San Francisco on February 18th of this year.

Poor Brit, probably the black mugger just thought he was another unarmed Asian - easy pickings. Lots of Asians getting mugged in San Francisco and Oakland, usually older folks though.

My brother-in-law downloaded Arrow series 3 for me last year and I've yet to watch that and I am recording DC Legends of Tomorrow. I wanted to see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, but it has had a lot of bad write ups from critics who have criticised the "C.G.I. soup" It would appear however that when it comes to blockbuster hits(and they also have the Disney name behind them), Marvel films take the lead especially the franchise series of Avengers (next one due soon, Thor(soon to be a third one) & Iron Man(rumoured fourth one) and Captain America another of which 'Civil War' is due out this year. No wonder DC find it hard to put out main movies, yet their most successful was the reboot of BATMAN.

Too few people understand new state pension, MPs warn
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-35904417

After the ongoing fiasco about the changes in State Pension benefits for women in relation to their actual State retirement age it looks like HMGOV is going to have to go the extra mile here to explain these changes as more people will be affected.
I've already had some information about it and I understand the need to cut costs but the new automatic enrollment schemes for employees had far more publicity than this bigger change.
I'll get less State Pension as I have been in contracted out employment for over 30 years but contracting out ends on 5 April this year, the end of the financial year.

This may be interesting if any Brit has missed it

It was the choppiest water to row in for years, brutal in some places but CAMBRIDGE won the famous men's boat race stopping a three year winning streak of Oxford. Why do I have Cambridge? Well, this all goes back to early days when my Dad and my late Grandpa used to bet on the race each year, only 50p stake, but it became quite a tradition in my house and we all became Cambridge fans. My Grandpa took Oxford so Dad took Cambridge and for a time he won a fair bit of money over those years as Cambridge used to win it constantly. Oxford then found their form and started to close the considerable gap. I still support Cambridge after all these years(even in University Challenge) and this year they were the bookies' favourite(which is normally the kiss of death for any team) and they won!
