Ever talk about porn with a female relative

I can't imagine ever discussing porn with my sister in a million years, but a girlfriend I once had told me that her brother had shown her some magazines that, in her words,

"Were almost gynaecological".

I never asked her any more about it, but knowing how women are often curious about porn, I wondered whether she'd asked him first?

Has anyone else ever had an experience similar to this?

Didn't everybody have family porn night? The entire family would gather around and watch the latest 8mm loops and then discuss what we watched. It was an extra special time when grandma would bring her baked ziti. Sometimes, if my grades were good, my parents let me have a sip of Chianti Classico while watching.

winebeavis, you were spoiled rotten, I had to make do with a sip of Marstons Pedigree, and only a sip. I had responsible parents you know.

I'm not sure who the girl was on out family porn night, cos I don't have a sister. I have a brother but he never came to these nights!

As someone without a sister, I used to talk to my next door neighbour who was a few months younger than me. We would, when we were young teenagers, ask each other about the things we had learned that week or so at school, as we both went to single sex schools.

It was really good to have someone to discuss things with, and she was the first person to show me her breasts (as opposed to in magazines or on the TV) In fact as I remember it now, we would have a kiss and a cuddle and I was allowed to feel her breasts well before I was allowed to see them.

I have very fond memories of these times. I am still friends with the girl in question, although we live some distance apart, and therefore don't see each other as often as we should.

My mom was a nude model in her younger days, and was not shy when it came the birds and bees talk. Really it was cool not having someone that was uptight about sex to talk too, even though at the time it seemed weird.

scottx made me think. If your mother (or father) was a pornstar of old and it gets to the birds and bees discussion, would she simply put on one of her old DVD's (or VHS's) and leave it at that.

I recall "finding" a book on the subject (not really a book, more like a pamphlet, Ladybird I think) in the bottom of my wardrobe one day. It was not there before and disappeared soon after. I read it and placed it back exactly where it was. This was the extent of sex education from my parents! thanks a lot, look where I am now!
