Steve Kille of the highly-influential stoner rock band Dead Meadow has passed away. Dead Meadow revealed the sad news on their Instagram, saying Kille passed away earlier this morning. We wish Kille's friends and family all the best at this time.

"It is with the absolutely heaviest of hearts that we have to announce our beloved brother, bandmate, amazing and utterly unique bass player, and gifted artist Steve Kille passed away at 12 am last night," wrote Dead Meadow.

"Writing, recording, performing music with Steve felt as fresh; inspiring, and as important as it did 27 years ago when we first started playing together. We don't know what words could express this level of loss.

Portuguese bodybuilder Marco Cesar Aguiar Luis, better known as “Monster,” died in Germany.

He was 46 years old.

Luis’ wife, Mariza Luis, confirmed the news in a Facebook post, according to the Daily Mail, in which she paid tribute to her husband and asked for privacy during her time of grieving.

Los Angeles Rams NFL Icon Roman Gabriel Dies

Legendary quarterback Roman Gabriel - who in 1969 won the NFL MVP as a member of the Los Angeles Rams - passed away this Saturday morning. He was 83 years old.

Gabriel's son confirmed his passing with a social media post.

"I am sad to announce my father Roman Gabriel @RGabriel4HOF passed away peacefully this morning of natural causes at his home," his son wrote on social media. "The entire family asked for your prayers, and to please respect our privacy - I love you dad."

Tributes are being paid after Grammy-winning American Idol singer Mandisa Lynn Hundley died at the age of 47.

Paula Abdul, who was a judge during her Idol season in 2006, called her a "true beacon of light" in a statement to People.

Another Idol star Danny Gokey wrote on X, formerly Twitter, that he was "devastated".

Mandisa's publicist confirmed to BBC News that she was found dead in her home on Thursday.

"At this time, we do not know the cause of death or any further details," they added.

"We ask for your prayers for her family and close-knit circle of friends during this incredibly difficult time."

The singer, known by the mononym Mandisa, took home the Grammy in the best contemporary Christian music category for her record Overcomer in 2014.

The gospel singer competed in season five of American Idol in 2006, finishing in ninth place.

Howie Schwab, a longtime ESPN producer and star of the ESPN trivia show "Stump the Schwab," died Saturday at the age of 63, according to his family.

Schwab joined ESPN in 1987 and worked for the company through 2013. Along with his work on multiple ESPN shows, he was perhaps best known as the final challenge on "Stump the Schwab," where contestants would attempt to outduel him in a trivia showdown for cash prizes. The show aired from 2004 to 2006.

"Howie played a vital role in my career -- his incredible research was so valuable for decades," ESPN analyst Dick Vitale said in a statement. "Howie's loyalty & dedication was so special. His passion & love for sports was off the charts. Most recently he was ecstatic with the UConn Huskies going back to back and was also thrilled to see Rick Pitino bring back his beloved St. John's to prominence."

Following the move into hospice care earlier this month, Leeway frontman Eddie Sutton has passed away after his battle with lung cancer. New York crossover band, Leeway, was found in 1984 and despite never achieving notable commercial success, Leeway is considered to be an integral part of the 1980s NYHC and crossover thrash scenes, continuing to be a influential force even in today's new bands and music.

The conductor Andrew Davis. Well known for his conducting at the London Proms. If anyone is visiting London from abroad between July and very early September a trip to the Royal Albert Hall is well worth it. Tickets for the standing area are pretty easy to get.

Well known for his championing of British music which for so many decades has been allowed to be regarded as somehow second rate which it is not. He also conducted with distinction abroad in Chicago and Toronto and also Melbourne too.

His championing of works also included many of the wonderful operas of the pacifist Michael Tippett. The Midsummer Marriage which is a masterwork and the premiere of his The Mask of Time.

He is an alumni of my school which has produced several very notable classical musicians and I'm sure he will get his due recognition in the school magazine and perhaps the renaming of the music venue which was built some fourteen years ago and is currently called the Clarendon Muse. I think it would be nice if it's renamed after him. He used to pop in whenever his schedule allowed it.

Stephanie Sparks, longtime host of Golf Channel's reality series 'Big Break,' dies at 50

Longtime Golf Channel “Big Break” host Stephanie Sparks has died at the age of 50.

No cause of her April 13 death was listed in a story about Sparks' death on the NBC Sports website.

Born in Wheeling, West Virginia, to Robert and Janie Sparks, Mary Stephanie Sparks was an All-American collegiate golfer at Duke.

Reggae and Dancehall singer Tony Tuff, perhaps best known for the song Girl I’ve Got To Get You, died on Saturday (April 20). He was 69.

His passing was confirmed in a brief statement posted to his official Facebook page on Saturday afternoon. “It is with sadness and deep regret that we announce the passing of Reggae Legend Tony Tuff. Tony, whose real name is Winston Morris, made a name for himself in Dancehall during its early stages,” the statement read in part.

A cause of death was not provided, but in a separate statement, his daughter, Keina Sykes, paid tribute to her father, saying: “His legacy in music will always be remembered, and his presence will be deeply missed. Your thoughts, prayers, and support during this difficult time would mean a lot to me and our family. Please keep us in your thoughts as we navigate through

Musician Jean-Marie Aerts (72) has passed away after a prolonged illness, his wife Miet Ongena has announced. Aerts was best known as the guitarist for T.C. Matic (with the late Arno) and as a producer of over 200 Belgian and international albums.

To our readers he is mostly known for his work with bands such as Elisa Waut, Red Zebra, Luc Van Acker, The Neon Judgement, Arbeid Adelt!, and Jo Lemaire. Meg Bennett Dies: ‘The Young And The Restless' Star Who Played Julia Martin Was 75

Meg Bennett, an actress and writer on soap operas General Hospital and The Young and the Restless, died April 11 of cancer at 75, her family said.

Bennett grew up in Pasadena began her career in 1975 on Search For Tomorrow, playing the role of Liza Walton on several episodes.

From there, she segued to The Young and the Restless, where she played Julia Martin, a role that was featured on the long-running soap in appearances over four decades.

She also contributed to the soap industry as a writer, becoming the associate head writer at General Hospital and penning 197 episodes.

Pioneering UK rapper Kashif Adham, AKA MC Duke, has died.

Suburban Base Records, a label that Adham often collaborated with, broke the news on Instagram yesterday, April 21st. "MC Duke solidified his status as a legend in the UK music scene," the post read. "As a forefather of UK hip-hop, his influence reverberates through generations, laying the foundation for the vibrant UK rap scene that we know today, and we expect many will pay tribute at this devastating news." A long list of artists, including Goldie, Slipmatt and Nicky Blackmarket, paid tribute in the comment section of the post.

Hailing from East London, Adham got his big break at a DMC World Championships afterparty, where the tournament winner boasted that he could beat anyone who challenged him. Duke climbed onstage to take the challenge, emerged victorious and was subsequently signed to UK hip-hop label Music of Life in 1987.

Two albums and a string of singles followed, before Adham signed to Shut Up And Dance Records, one of the first labels to bridge the gap between hip-hop and hardcore. He continued on this path over the next few years, launching his own hardcore and jungle label, Hard Disk, collaborating with artists like Billy Daniel Bunter and Loop Da Loop, and performing at legendary rave spots like The Sanctuary in Milton Keynes. In 2007, he appeared in Charlie Sloth's track "Can't Forget About UK," which paid tribute to pioneering rappers from the UK.

Chan Romero, a Billings native and rock 'n' roll singer best known for his original song "The Hippy Hippy Shake," had died, according to a post on his official Facebook page.

The post was made over the weekend and did not list a cause or date of death. He was living in southern California.

Terry Carter, best known for his roles as Colonel Tigh in the original Battlestar Galactica, and as Sgt. Joe Broadhurst on TV series McCloud, died Tuesday at his home in New York City, his son confirmed to The New York Times. He was 95.

A native of Brooklyn, NY, Carter broke color barriers from the beginning of his decades-long career. Carter was one of the first Black actors as a regular on a TV sitcom series, in the role of Private Sugarman on The Phil Silvers Show. He appeared in 92 episodes on the show from 1955-1959. Nine years later, he was credited with becoming New England’s first Black TV anchor newscaster, for WBZ-TV Eyewitness News in Boston, as well as the station’s drama and movie critic, from 1965 to 1968.
