GE makes a cleaner. I have used it since I bought my TV in 2010. It doesn't leave a residue and comes with a cleaning cloth designed not to scratch of scuff up your TV. Here is the rub it is 20.00 a bottle the good thing is I clean my TV monthly and I am only on my second bottle in 4 years.

Do you have your original owners manual? If you do it should tell you in there. If you don't have it do a google search for the manual and see what it says.

I'm not an expert on flat screens but I'm pretty sure you don't want to use alcohol on some of these screens. Blurs the screen or something.

Find the manual. It should tell you how to clean it.

I have had my (second) flat screen for about 5 years now, and I have always cleaned it with Windex or soap and water. I use old t-shirts for rags.
Sometimes it streaks, when that happens I just spray a little cleaner on a clean rag and "polish" away the streaks, my screen is not scratched or marred in any way.

There is a few products out their but read the instructions, some need it to be sprayed on the supplied cloth and some straight on the screen. don't use a cheap and nasty brand. don't press too hard or you will damage the pixels?

I find a weekly dry wipe with a microfiber cloth has kept my flat screen clean. Been doing that for about five years now. But I agree: check your owner's manual or manufacturer's website. If the screen is glass, you could try lens cleaning solution from a camera store. The glass used on lenses for expensive cameras have exotic coatings which have to be cleaned with specific solutions and very soft lens cleaning paper. If you've ever priced Nikkor, Canon, or Carl Zeiss lenses you know that you can't use grocery store window cleaner! A small bottle of cleaning solution costs a few dollars and would be sufficient for spot cleaning.

Good luck and enjoy your new TV!

I too would suggest going with manufacturers recommendations. But Some times it's hard to find or it's just too expensive.

Most of all, don't use anything that has an alcohol or ammonia in it. Those are good for hard glass and can be too aggressive on your screen and overtime cause fading.

I use a high quality cleaners that are "safe for window tinting" found in the autoparts stores and Automotive isles. Such as Meguirs glass cleaner.

And as mentioned before, micro fiber towels are best, the won't scratch and are best at collecting dust. Most of the time I just end up using that without any cleaners. But if you have sneezed....Yeah...Use a cleaner

Second choice would be soft "All Cotton" rag. Don't use paper products such as paper towels or tissues. The fiber is too hard and leaves faint scratches that you really can't see, but over time will develop hazing.
