Vicious dogs have been outlawed here. If you already own one then it got grandfathered in, however, you must carry insurance and you are liable for anything the dog does. Here is a copy of the legislation.

Although there were many reported attacks the two that garnered the most press were a young girl killed by her neighbours rottweiler and a letter carrier badly mauled by two pit bulls. This was several years ago and the poor woman still isn't physically/mentally fit to return to work.

This is a short video of a polar bear going after some Beluga whales. This is not the video I mentioned earlier, that bear jumped a Bowhead whale. Most of the scaring on the whales in the video is caused by the ice, however, bears do inflict their fair share of damage. This bear has little to no chance of landing a healthy Beluga whale. The Beluga is one of the smallest whales at 12 feet and 1 ton. Full grown Bowheads have been measured at 60 feet and 100 tons.

You may have noticed that an American 'supercop' has been invited to join a panel to help fight gang crime in this country by David Cameron PM. His name is Bill Bratton, a former LAPD commander from Los Angeles and I wondered what you views on this are-do we need outside help or do you, like the police ACPO president Sir Hugh Orde(whom I feel would be good as the next Commissioner) feel this is a 'slap in the face' to British Policing-surely we can police our own country without outsiders telling us what to do? Or is this a good idea, a panel of advisors from other countries with similar problems in the past.

Always listen to advice even if it's not heeded.
It's arrogance to blindly assume that yours is the best way.
Progressive cultures are willing to borrow bits from anywhere if it works.

Sir hugh was chief constable of the PSNI and made a complete mess of it. But I wish him well on his own turf. Bringing in an American cop is a pr stunt IMHO.
