Kimberly McArthur is #1 all-time. Lisa Mathews, Lisa Edwards, Patti McQuire and Shannon Tweed are the top 5 living Playmates. Pam Anderson is an honorable mention. I won't mention the 3 diseased Playmates who died tragically.

This is very much like a sports argument. It's less about objective measurements, and more the nostalgia of the ranker.

All of the Playmates are beautiful. In the presence of any of them, at any age, any man would be aroused, intrigued, riveted. Years ago I remember I was new on my job, being introduced to a co-worker, she walks off and a guy says "She posed for Playboy." She instantly became the hottest woman to my mind. I haven't seen her in anyone's top 30 here though.

Did Petra have the best tits? Undoubtedly. Or maybe it was Patti. Or Candy. Or Suzi Simpson. How do you rank Hope Marie Carlton's beauty next to Sherry Arnett's next to Penny Baker's. How do you rate Cherie Witter's smoky eyes against Ava Fabian's smoldering gaze? How do you account for Stacy Leigh Arthur, who in her interview spoke so erotically and eloquently of being turned on posing for the readers.

For me, I think back to college. I had two housemates, one female, who one day said to me "Jesus, your room smells like cum," and no, I did not have a girlfriend at that time. I had Alesha Oreskovich's centerfold. She gets my No. 1 vote.

Very late to this discussion, but I gotta weigh in.... Great topic, and interesting to read others' faves. To me it's a combination of the model, the photographer, and the size of the photos that are available.

I originally subscribed to the magazine from 1970-73, when pubic hair went from always being hidden to finally showing a little bush. Digitally revisiting all of the later-1960s through 1980s many years later, IMO the peak year was 1974, when "the girl next door" wasn't coy about bush but hadn't gone on to become something else. So here are my top ten in order:
