Default James Bond Question...

James Bond Question...

In the beginning to the older James Bond secret Agent series movies they often showed what looked to be a nude lady dancing to the theme song.

Who was that lady?

I heard back when (someplace) it was one of the ladies from MATLOCK the televison series. Only thing I have heard is that it was an answer was mentioned back when here too.

I believe they used different dancers and models for each movie's credits sequence. So you'd have to specify which Bond movie before we could research the answer.

Agreed, no one model was used for all the openings for the original Bond movies.

I suspect from my rat pack of a memory - that Corrine Russel was one of them in the later movies

On another note, who was the nude bird dancing, in silouette, in the opening sequence of Anglia TV's (uk), excellent "Tales of the Unexpected", you know the bird with the Lady Diana hairdo?

Per #3 above, you guys got me now. Per some magazine article back when, it said the silo was of same lady, filmed one time, and reused several times during the credit flows. Was some thought of using the sequence at end of movie, but Cubbie and folks thought too many paying customers walked out in last minute(s) and thus the impact would be lost and thus it was always near beginning.

As I only saw the silo for a few seconds each time, thought as per magazine article, it was same gal all the time. Now, I got to go back and find that article, re-read everything, etc. and get back as to just who exact person was. They mentioned the lady was appearing on television in MATLOCK at the moment, but that was some time ago too.

Some of the nude girls used in the James Bond opening credits were members of the British girls athletic squad

A lot of the main James Bond films used established models in the 70's and 80's some were page 3 girls like Joni Flynn(very long hair you can't miss her) and others-some appeared as cameo roles in the films as The Girls, but some were just used for the opening sequences which at that time had been created by Maurice Binder who also created the gun barrel sequence-in the first two films Robert Brownjohn was director of that sequence but the rest was Maurice. He used models shot in silhouette but they were entirely nude-you can actually see some nipples and bush in many of the shots if you're quick. One example was Catriona Skipper who is in a glass towards the end but clothed. Joni was used many times, I cannot find anything that says that Corinne Russell actually appeared I've not been able to spot her but I only ever saw one article that mentioned it-its part of Bond folklore-one girl I have tracked down, used in "The Spy Who Loved Me" was Perri Small-aka Penelope Smallbone-the producers liked the name so much they used it for Moneypenny's replacement name years later. Another from that same film was Anna Noble-(her thread is on the forum)
