Brilliant
Now the Aus government is spending my hard earned tax dollars blocking pirate sites and crowing about it on TV. But if you install Kproxy in firefox then it is all a waste of time. Any VPN will bypass this bullshit of course. So whats the point? Apart from trying to make themselves look clever to the voters. Fucking money wasting idiots. |

Rudeness, his clueless cousin, insensitivity, and their incestuous offspring, internet trolls.
I was on another forum years ago enjoying some impressively witty banter by my favorite poster when he used the 'r' word to describe someone. I'm probably over-sensitive when I hear people use 'retard' to describe an otherwise normal person who annoys them. So, sometimes I ask them: "If you're going to call a normal person whom you're angry at a 'retard', then what should we call my mentally retarded son?" (My son is developmentally disabled due to Down Syndrome. The worst thing you could say about him is he hugs too much. He's also the most empathetic person I've ever met and I cannot begin to tell you how much I love him.) My favorite poster graciously acknowledged his error in judgment and all was well. Until a minute later when a troll posted: "Do you need a mop for his drool?" My comebacks are usually too late to be of any value, but this one came quite easily: "My son doesn't know how to drool, but I do and I'd be happy to drool down the back of your clothes...so they'll match the front." The troll never responded, but I pictured him reading it, frowning like a persecuted victim, and grinding his teeth on his way to the next thread. |

What they found slightly less amusing was being rammed back against the wall by a six foot paratrooper, and forced to apologise loudly to everyone for being and I quote, 'total and absolute scumbags'. Which all around found very amusing, and Mum and daughter. The six foot paratrooper was not me, but one of my sergeant majors, interestingly as Mum and daughter had only just arrived on a rare visit, he did not know they were his COs family! |

Don't know if anybody noticed this,
Last few years whenever there has been an incident around the world where there have been mass casualties, terrorists buildings and landmarks around the world a lit up, showing some kind of solidarity , though in my view it don't really achieve much as the terrorists couldn't give a damn , I have no problem with it at all, but I suppose it does show some kind of mark of respect for the fallen, that's well and good. Las Vegas on the weekend .... nothing There is no difference between the victims, all innocent, so why no mark of respect world wide

The other, one person, acting on their own, standing for nothing, whilst we can show support for the victims, it is hard to take the same stand. |

So, I think that similar could be done around the world to show the Yanks their forearm laws are stupid or do we not want to offend the Yanks with it I dunno if I am thinking that right just don't seem right that there is on fact nothing, the only thing I saw was Trump , Pence and their wives in the White House lawn for a minutes silence.

You are right - we don't want to offend our American friends, especially at a time like this. But having chatted with pals (some American), while we abhor the act, there is a sense of shoulder shrugging because of the way Americans do so very little to control gun ownership. Maybe it has just gone too far to be able to tackle it now, but the solution is surely in their own hands. Living in the UK I have to say that I have hardly ever even seen a gun outside a museum, at military events like the Royal Tournament or at Heathrow airport. I know absolutely no-one who owns one or wishes to own one. It's also true that we have no vicious animals to contend with so I get that - but in everyday life I am so glad I live where I live. |
