Thanks bloke57. Yes July 4th 1776, what was the original 13 colonies of the British Empire was declared The United States of America, but it took until 1959 for all 50 of the U.S. states to finally become states(Alaska and Hawaii became U.S. states in 1959).

Some beer news!
Iron Maiden makes their own belgian beer.

I was lazy so i threw the article in Google Translate (and corrected it a bit where needed) :
Quote:
The British metal band Iron Maiden brings a tribute to Belgium. And how could it be better than brewing beer? This fall, the group around singer Bruce Dickinson launches the beer "Hallowed", titled "Inspired by Belgium, made in England".

In 2013, beer connoisseur Bruce Dickinson decided to collaborate with British family brewer Robinsons. And since then 15 million glasses were sold from the first beer "Original Trooper". For a while, the brewery had to switch over to a six-day working week to meet the demand. The success tasted like more, and in October this year they launched "Hallowed".

The new beer will be brewed in England with Belgian yeast and get an alcohol percentage of 6 percent. On the website ironmaidenbeer.com, Bruce Dickinson says: "It's all in the yeast. Belgian yeast has a very clear taste and presentation. You distinguish a Belgian beer by its aromas: fruity, spicy and earthy. "

On the beer label will be the loyal Iron Maiden mascot Eddie, dressed as a monk, which refers to the Brewery tradition of the Trappists in Belgium. Robinsons Brewery has already created a beer with the British band Elbow.

Today's drink is from Czechoslovakia: Zatec Pivovar Dark Lager. Pours a rich, dark copper/brown color with a tall tan head. Alcohol content 5.7% Tastes of sweet malts, toffee, caramel, coffee and chocolate. Very good overall.

Off tomorrow.
Lately I have been drinking Soave whilst boring you Folks.
Unfortunately the BIG supermarket that said it needed to turn things around and be more customer focus, has run out of my Soave and also the nearest substitute so I am on something I have never before tasted.
Wine. And not bad. £3.56 a bottle.

I paid £4.75 for a glass in London last weekend. 175ml.

Sipping a rather large Vecchia Romagna Brandy. First time I have drank it. I am pleasantly surprised given its low price. Bottoms up, everyone!

Last night I started with 2 beers than a few glasses of white vine and I finished myself with 3 rhums & lemon. Wasn't drunk but alright. A nice little starter for the weekend.
